The title says it all really it was our first time at Langar Hall but it came well recommended (not only by trusty Trip Advisor feed back, but also friends and friends of friends) - I'm fed up of going to a "foodie" restaurant and getting small portions, so Langar Hall was a surprise, the garden room is a great... Thank you for your lovely review. It is not only very helpful but also encouraging for all the staff and myself. I remember your table since I am anxious to make people with wheat and other allergies feel welcome having suffered myself and often felt embarrassed. It is really kind of you to take the trouble to write a good... More

A recent visit with friends who had several previous lunch and dinner experiences at Langar Hall was really everything that one expected - except for the portion price balance. The menu was nicely mixed and offered a good choice, the food was well cooked and 'quite' nicely presented but in terms of food value for money we all felt less... More

Thank you for your very helpful report. It helps my battle against small portions on large plates. I apologise sincerely. Please remind me of this if you come back. Meanwhile I shall show your comment to the chefs and keep a closer eye on the portions. There is not much I can do about the prices these days but Sundays... More

My wife and I stayed three nights this April (2012) and I can only agree with all the good points mentioned by other reviewers. The rooms are delightful, the staff bend over backwards to be helpful and the food is the product of a talented chef. Were I to pushed to find anything less than excellent, I would have to... More

Thanks for your great review. Sorry about fruit salad and croissants. There was so much waste that I took the croissants off on week days and put fruit salad to order from the menu. Could certainly introduce a few again or improve the breakfast menu. Best wishes Imogen More

We arrived in a downpour soaked through having elected to travel in an open car en route to Cambridge. Four pm and the place was buzzing ,we had arrived in the middle of a wake ,a local dignitary was getting a jolly good sed off ! Our delightful host Imogen explained that with the church adjoined to the hotel they... More

The most comfy bed that I have ever slept in, apart from my own! Lovely room but now shower in bathroom and the huge bath didn't make up for lack of morning shower. Everything else was brilliant though if you are looking for a very comfortable but characterful place to stay. The staff were all first class giving a very... More

Thank you for your lovely report. Sorry about that bath! It doe not have an overflow either which causes problem if you leave the taps running! .Circa 1890 porcelain and too high in the house for pressure for a shower. Also I don't like the decor any more & hope to re decorate fairly soon! More

Langar Hall is a gorgeous place, very tastefully done up with extremely friendly staff and interesting owner. We stayed for two nights with our small son, because we were visiting friends nearby and wanted to give ourselves a little treat - we'd come to the right place! It certainly isn't cheap, and I think the food isn't quite as amazing... More

The title of this review is the strapline used by the hotel, and I really can't fault it. We arrived towards the end of a very busy Mother's Day lunch session, but we were made very welcome and comfortable. A well maintained hotel. Lovely crisp linen and soft, good-sized towels. The place is made really special by the quality of... More

Thank you for reviewing your recent stay at Langar Hall and there are many components of an enjoyable stay at a hotel but I feel that one of the most important is a good night’s sleep and I am delighted that our beds and linen made that possible along with the young staff and the whole dining experience. We have stayed at Langar a few times and eaten there a number of times. Have slept in beautiful rooms in the house and the lovely converted croquet lodge in the garden. Every time it is truly amazing - like staying in your very own country house. As you turn into the drive, lined by beautful lime or beach trees,... More

I arrived with four colleagues to celebrate my retirement and was immediately struck by the wonderful atmosphere and surroundings. We were invited to dine in a separate room where we were delighted by both the service and the food. This is a very special place and my guess on reading the pack I was given is that the owner, Imogen... More

My partner and I just came back from a one nights stay here. From the moment you arrive you feel very welcome. All the staff we came across were very friendly and helpful, and the owner Imogen was happy to point out the best walks around the fields. We stayed in the Edwards room, which is huge! Lovely en suite,... More
