My husband and I stayed at The Red Lion for two nights, the 25th and 26th of May 2012. We arrived earlier than expected but this was not a problem at all as the young lady on duty told us it was fine, the room was ready for us and made us very welcome. The room was very large and... More

We were invited to a wedding in Wooler and as we live in the Bristol area it's a long way (353 miles to be exact) so wanted a good B&B. We paid £40 each per night for 2 nights. The welcome was nice and friendly. The decor was a bit dark for our taste and we were unsure about all... More

If u looking to stay in wooler in a group. Ask this pub about the cottage joined to the rear. It used to be lived in by the old owner and It has been renovated to an excellent standard. Has the biggest plasma tv we ever saw. Great for group night away or large family. 3 double bedrooms large fully... More

My friend and I stayed here as a stop off along the St Cuthberts Way. While the welcome was warm enough, the overall feel of the place was dingy - not helped by the dark colour scheme, even in the narrow corridors and our room. The food was very average and had our feet not hurt as much as they... More

We decided to stay here after reading excellent reviews but I dare say I will never recommend this place. The decor is actually lovely with willow bark and LED lights everywhere but that's as far as it goes. Our room (number 6) was fairly small for a twin with a tiny en suite. There were massive cobwebs everywhere! My friend's... More

We were greeted outside by sewage and used toilet paper bubbling out from a drain cover. Not a good first impression. We were taken to our room via dirty stairs to a very dark and dingy room with a very high window with no view. Room 7 a twin. Beds were very uncomfortable, the room was very cold as the... More

Room 3 is the best in the hotel we were told by the new manager from Berwick as we booked in for two memorable days. We were on the penultimate section of The St Cuthberts Way. The roll top bath was most welcoming immediately after we had checked that the window blinds were down!! Car parking is a slight problem... More

We decided on a trip to Northumbria to explore the countryside and county. Our stay took us to the Red Lion in Wooler and what a good choice, the hotel is very welcoming and friendly and has a boutique feel. The rooms were comfortable, clean with lovely decor, we especially loved the wooden branches and lights. lovely touch. The bar... More

My husband and I just popped in for a quick lunch and were amazed at the fabulous interior of the pub and restaurant. There was a new manager who was really friendly and welcoming and recommended the roast dinner for lunch......well! It was amazing and we told the chef so too!! Based on this lovely experience we are planning a... More
