My wife and I managed to get a late booking for a Saturday night - we have stayed at the Olde Ship a couple of times in the last few years and was quite dissappointed when comparing it to our previous stays. The girl on check in showed very little interest in getting us checked in, the rooms are looking... More

We booked a room at the Olde Ship at the last minute over the Easter weekend. We had a lovely room with a four poster bed and a fabulous bay window giving an awesome view of the harbour. After our fish and chip supper, we spent the evening sitting in the bay with the lights off and the curtains open... More

We returned to the Ship mid- April 2012 following a successful break there last August. The service was once again excellent and the warm welcome made up for the bleak weather on arrival. Bars with real fires, real ales and good food served either in the bar areas or in the restaurant. We had two rooms in the main building (plumbing... More

Stayed here last weekend. Great bar with real ales and friendly staff. Food isn't up to much - especially bad for vegetarians - one, unchanging option each evening - no option for a cooked breakfast. Still, we didn't come for the food. Rooms OK, but extremely hot. Even with radiators switched off and windows open. Stay here if you need... More

Visited this pub on 26th and 27th March 2012 with my wife. We had previously been here three years ago and had been impressed, but not this time.  When we visited on 26th it was so busy (seemed to be mainly locals) that we struggled to get into the only be that was open on the Monday evening. Once in,... More

Lovely rooms in main building, especially the four posters. Excellent food in genteel restaurant (not gourmet, but who always wants that?) including brilliant breakfasts. Always friendly staff in restaurant, but don't turn up on spec and expect to eat in restaurant at weekends or school hols. It's quite rightly popular. Best of all, the best real ale free house in... We arrived on Friday and checked in before dinner. We had a standard room which was spotlessly clean, and very warm but we found it rather small. However, it did the job for the weekend (Room 10 - view of car park!). We were envious of friends who found themselves in 'Fisher's Yard' (gorgeous, 3-storey & sleeps 10) and also... More

We had a weekend break at the Ship on 17/18 February with a group of friends. The bar staff and waiting staff were great and very friendly. I originate from the area but have been away over 40 years. The weather was good but very cold and the bar was so welcoming once you could get in. If you make... More

Lovely maritime themed pub/restaurant. Amazing malt whisky selection and great views out to sea. Great for farne Island boat trips. Friendly locals too. More

Are you local?if the answer is no then don't bother going in this pub! Crammed snug full of unwelcoming locals and a very rude owner. We come to sea houses several times a year and there are far better places to eat and drink that don't relegate you to eating in a windowless corridor outside smelly toilets. It is not child... More
