We stayed in a couple of hotels this weekend on a break away. We all have different standards, but I can certainly refute the minority bad reviews. Things have certainly changed if they are accurate. Our stay could not have been better. After a long journey, I was grumpy to say the least; the offer of afternoon tea was welcome;... More

Having been thwarted in our attempts to have a quiet night in by virtue of the sudden arrival of a cohort of our teenage daughter's friends, we jumped in the car and went out for a drive. Heading up the A697 we had the civilizing notion of seeking out a country pub for a pint and a glass of wine.... More

We had a lovely few days at this pretty hotel with wonderful views. The decor could do with updating and the food was not as good as previous stays but as always the service was outstanding. Will definitely return. More

Although as previous reviews state the place is in need of some modernisation, we found it to almost add to the character of the hotel. The rooms are spacious however quite old-fashioned. We had 2 good comfortable nights sleep and the only bad point of the room was a lack of standing shower which would have made getting washed easier... More

We spent 3 days over Christmas at Embleton Hall and it was just such a wonderful experience. We had a lovely room, warm and cosy and full of character. The owner and his family made us so welcome and the staff were very attentive. The food was scrumptuous, beautifully prepared, presented and served. Nothing was too much trouble. It was... More

My friend and I regularly call in for lunch (although you do have to pre book for the restaurant) and we have never been disappointed. Yes the decor could be said to be 'dated' but this just adds to its quaint charm. The views from the lounge area are spectacular and the gardens have natural style -without the 'parksngardens' uniformed... More

We held a family party for 17 at the hall, the food was excellent and Trevor and his young team looked after us very well. We spent two nights in the hotel and would agree that although the hotel looks tired the staff are very welcoming. Breakfasts are excellent. More

We had an exceedingly enjoyable three-day Xmas break. (The Embleton Hall Xmas break package was very good value for money indeed!) The atmosphere, and the food, were excellent. Trevor and his family and staff were superb. The hotel's decor is perhaps a little "tired", but it is nevertheless very pleasant and characterful, indeed delightful - the gardens are very pleasant... I recently attended a family wedding in this hotel and stayed there over the weekend. Prior to this I read the reviews of others who had stayed at the hotel and noted their comments. On my arrival I saw that the premises is a bit tired, worn and run down. It could do with a good clean and repairing of... More

I attented yet another wedding at Embleton hall and was very dissapointed with the lack of service. My mum was staying in her room for her meal due to recently having a operation and she decided to keep my 2 year old daughter in there with her whilst having her meal the waitress agreeded that this was ok and she...
