Great service, great value, great room, this place works very hard to make sure your stay is a pleasure. We stayed for two midweek nights and in comparison to other hotels on our trip this was superb.

My husband and I have just returned from a four night stay and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in a beautiful setting, the staff were lovely and our room very comfortable. The breakfast and dinner were delicious. We only ate at the hotel on our first night as we like to go out and explore local restaurants. Perhaps...

First impressions was that Doxford Hall was beautiful. We started with afternoon tea on the terrace - even though we were a little early, it was no trouble for the staff. Our room was lovely, clean and tasteful - liked the Moulton Brown toiletries! We were very disappointed with dinner - it didn't deliver on 'fine dining'. One night everything...

We stayed here for two nights and were really pleased with all aspects of the hotel. The room was lovely, clean and spacious (we were in Featherstone, a four-poster). We dined in the restaurant both evenings and it was excellent; they were very helpful with our gluten-free request.
The local area is fantasic, can't quite believe it's North East England!...

Spent a very relaxing two days at Doxford Hall. The hotel is set in impressive surroundings and we were able to enjoy relaxing walks in the grounds.
Inside the hotel, our room was very luxurious and we had a very enjoyable dinner the one evening we ate in the restaurant. The small bar seemed a bit out of place, the...

My husband and I got married here at the end of March having been really impressed with the standard of the hotel and staff when looking for wedding venues. We stayed on the Friday night before the wedding and then on the wedding night itself. The rooms we had were lovely and had everything we could need - no mini-bar...

This hotel was chosen by a cousin for his daughters wedding and we decided to stay over. From the word go the staff were very friendly and helpful. THe hotel is a beautiful building orginally by John Dobson of Newcastle Grey Street fame. All public rooms were well furnished in a style befitting the building. For some reason we were...

Our third visit in as many years and probably the best yet. Beautiful, flawless room, polite and friendly staff, first class food in the restaurant and a relaxing couple of hours in the pool made for the perfect stay. The communal rooms and grounds speak for themselves. Can't recommend this place enough - the only downside was listening to the...

Following a leak from the upstairs room into my bathroom on the first night I was moved from a fantastic room with jet bath, double bed and lovely decor into a room with a rusty shower, broken curtains and zip together beds. A shower chair was moved into the bathroom on day two of my stay for no reason at...

Dear Michael
I have to say that I am very disappointed that you felt the need to write a review despite our exchange of emails.
You assured me that as your friend was paying and he had thoroughly enjoyed his stay with us, you didn't want him to know of your disappointment. Neither were you seeking any financial recompense.
You...

We stayed a couple of nights, just after Easter. The hotel was fairly quiet and there were no weddings.
Our room on the ground floor was large, clean and bright - quiet and overlooking a private grassed courtyard. Very comfortable.
The bathroom was well equipped and the shower worked well. The bath was one of those flashing lights and bubble...
