2 stars may seem harsh, but then not sleeping a wink does bring out the worst in me. All night a barn door (or possibly the roof kept clattering around in the wind, producing what sounded like some kind of riot all night, making it impossible to sleep. The owners must be aware of this, and clearly by propping the... More

Good points: friendly&welcoming, warm&cosy room, spotlessly clean, very quiet area, excellent breakfast, TV/DVD players in rooms, on a bus route, shops nearby Bad points: quite remote (best accessed by car) More

Mrs Spicer took in 4 weary folk, at a moments notice, after their original booking fell through. It was dark and we were tired. The rooms were warm and comfortable and Mr Spicer brought us glasses and ice for the much needed gin! The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of hot water. Breakfast set us up well for... We only stayed here one night, such a shame as we had a very pleasant experience. The water was warm, the towels were large, the rooms were clean, the owners (and their spaniel) were incredibly friendly and accomodating - especially at breakfast, and the building was beautiful. It is decorated throughout with a collection of prints and furniture, mostly Victorian/Edwardian... More

Great Location but difficult to find with Sat Nav, well worth printing out a map beforehand. Bathroom was old fashioned with shower but no curtain, could feel the springs through the mattress. The hosts were very friendly and obliging and nothing was too much trouble.. Cooked breakfast was great! More

This is a really lovely B&B with everything you need in an incredibly friendly setting and the cutest puppy I have seen in a very long time. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. I would definitely recommend staying here as it really is great value and I look forward to returning next time I am in the... More

A very enjoyable stay: the rooms were clean and tidy and as another has commented nothing was too much trouble. They were flexible about arrival/ depature times which made planning our trip that much easier. To top it all, the breakfasts were very tasty and substantial. Thank you for a lovely break - we'll be back!! More

On booking mentioned my partner was a vegetarian and was told he would be fully catered for, however all he was offered was cereal, boiled eggs, he had to ask for poached, and toast, no offer of the non veggie options from the "full English". More

Drayton Lodge was a perfect getaway for the weekend. The Spicers are very friendly with nothing that was too much trouble. The breakfast alone is worth travelling for! Cannot recommend this place enough. Lovely to wake up and hear horses as opposed to cars in the city! More
