Boxing Day lunch. £40+ each. Well below average. Limited menu. Main course no better than cheap pub calvery. Service average - personal hygiene of one member of staff needs sorting if going to lean over table to serve food! More

Monk Fryston Hotel offers a perfect location for a weekend get-away! The staff is very friendly and it is in a small town in the English country side. We intended to stay in York but the prices were higher for less quality. It was a little tricky getting to the hotel since we did not have a car, it took... More

Just one night in this hotel, which is set in delightful grounds, to meet up with friends for dinner. Our standard room was large, comfortable and clean with plenty of tea, coffee and mineral water. Having fiddled with the radiator and then the taps in the bathroom, we seemed to have no heating or hot water. A call to reception... More

Called and booked two rooms and they didn't even take a deposit or card number off me; staff were very friendly and efficient. We ate in the restaurant for dinner & breakfast and the food was good, not too plain not too fancy and was not compromised in any way by the event they had on. We were lucky to... More

The wedding day went faultlessly, the hotel organiser & staff working as a team, always smiling, helpful & considerate of any & all requests by everyone. Having read some previous reviews on weddings at this venue, where the staff were critisized,I would like to say,They have seriously improved their game.I could not fault them. Having received feedback from numerous guests, they have all said,What a... More

Didn't stay here, just had lunch; food is nice, hotel is a fabulous old manorial style building. However, the best part of the hotel is the walk down past the pond, through the woods and there you'll find a fantastic old wooden enclosed bridge with painted scenes. Worth seeing, even if it mean getting muddy shoes. More

I have had many stays at this small bed and breakfast hotel. The rooms are older, but very clean and comfortable. Breakfast is standard English breakfast and is well prepared. I have taken dinner at the on-site restaurant on several occasions and found the food well prepared. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The last time we stayed at... More

We visited on May 28th for lunch whilst there was a wedding taking place and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The hotel is lovely, beautifully set out, comfortable places to sit and chill and watch the world go by and when the weather is good enough you can walk/sit outside on the balcony or walk through the lovely grounds. We were one... More

For such a lovely place we had a very poor meal, except for a good young waitress who seemed embarrassed by all the mistakes, the set up was very amateurish. Sadly will not be going again or recommending it to friends and family. More
