In a hard to find location but well worth the effort . Jacquie and her staff were magnificent and so helpful with pre dinner drinks in the lounge right through to dinner in the dining room to post dinner coffee and wine in the drawing room. We stayed 2 nights and ate both nights in the dining room and were... More

What a lovely hotel. The rooms are spacious, quiet, comfortable and very beautifully appointed with wonderful views of the gardens. The staff couldn't be nicer or more helpful. The breakfast was fabulous, served in the conservatory, featuring local products. The en suite bath was also very nice.

As a Birthday treat, we stayed here for two nights in Pear Tree cottage, a dwelling detached from the Hotel and in the courtyard, very near to the indoor swimming pool. The cottage was ground floor, contemporary in design, and very comfortable, with an open log fire, and a small kitchen area, and two bedrooms. The main building of the... More

We stayed for 3 nights over the bank holiday weekend with our two kids, 5 & 6yrs old. We booked the Mallard suite, which was ideal. Beautifully decorated and perfect for our needs; two bedrooms (the kids' room had toe-to-toe single beds behind a curtain which they absolutely loved), living room with ready to go open fire, kitchen facilities and... We booked to stay here because we wanted to eat at the Star nearby, but this hotel deserves its own dedicated visit, it is so lovely! We were only sorry that we did not eat in the restaurant as it was clearly a highly rated dining choice. Next time we will have to come for two nights so that we... More

We held our Wedding celebrations at The Pheasant in February 2013. It was a totally amazing experience! Now I know your wedding often is an amazing day but from our first planning chat with the owner we knew that we were in safe hands. We took over the whole hotel for our 40+ guests and we had the place to... More

we went as guests of friends who were celebrating a special birthday. It was lovely - food was gorgeous even with the number of guests they had to cater for. The service was excellent and every single member of staff was attentive, friendly and generally top notch. Room (and all the lovely little extras) was impressive including the sloe gin,... More

A most pleasant lunch and a reservation wasn't necessary. A Very reasonably priced fine dining experience. The restaurant is well set out and the tables are not crammed together so the dining experience is private. The staff are very helpful and knowledgable.

My son had his wedding on 22 December at this hotel. We arrived on Friday 21 to be greeted in reception. We were quickly checked in and taken to our room. The room was very nice and spacious. After lunch my husband, sons, daughter in law and granddaughter decided to go for a swim in the very nice pool that... More
