I have stayed at the Royal before and was not to impressed but after hearing they had managed to get Scott formally of the white swan at scotter i knew things would be better and i was not dissapointed good on you Scott hope you finally get your own place you deserve it.

This was the first time we had stayed at The Royal but we were not disappointed.The bar/restaurant serves typical pub food but the menu is extensive and the food really good. I can sympathise with some of the earlier reviews - However the Royal has just been refurbished, both the rooms and the Bar. We stayed last week - the rooms are essentially the same size but there has been a nice upgrade to make them fit into the goodnight inns brand. The hallways have been re painted with new carpet.... The staff were so helpful and polite. Nothing was too much for them. The food was wonderful, the sausages and mash...yummy and the size of the pies...wow!!!
