My husband and I stayed for one night while viewing properties in the area. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and well appointed, bathroom was a good size and modern. Staff in the hotel were friendly and very helpful, we ate in the bar in the evening and had haddock and chips, and steak and kidney pudding, which was excellent.... More

Smashing grub and very friendly - very rainy outside but sunny inside! Came in for something to eat with 4 adults and 5 under 5's and made a right mess but loved food and service. Decor is exactly how an old pub should be!

The whole place needs a complete make-over. Both the bedroom and shower room were very tired. The same goes for the restaurant. Food and service are both adequate at best. Sorry, but not my cup of tea.

hotel located in a market town that has seen better days, lots of properties to rent and this hotel was also for sale which may have explained the slightly tired decor, limited menu options available and not many staff around. Room was large and clean so no complaints there, also as requested we were moved to the rear of the... More

Alford is a delightful little town with thatched cottages (and the largest thatched house in England), a working windmill open to the public, some very good little shops and pubs selling Bateman's Ales from nearby Wainfleet. It's a bit off the beaten track and ideal for exploring the coat around Mablethorpe and Skeggie and some very pleasant inland villages. Third... More

Visited the Half Moon on a couple of occasions for an evening meal, must say that even though they are not busy (due to the time of year), the kitchen was happy to receive late orders and the food produced was good value for money and extremely appetising. Would definitely visit again when in the area.

We stayed for 1 night in June 2011. We arrived very early and were welcomed. Our room was ready and we were given access well before booking in time. The owners are very friendly. A good range of food was offered for breakfast, it was well cooked and plentiful. Our room was clean, spacious, well furnished and comfortable. The shower... More

Stayed for a night as we were visiting friends nearby. Clean large quiet rooms with shower and lots of light. Not one of these small hotels that save on light bulbs! Owner managed by a couple who obviously want to keep with the times rather than remain stuck in a past era. Didn't dine in the restaurant but menu comprehensive... More
