I have stayed at the Crofters many times over the years but I'm sorry to say it gets worse with each visit. On my last stay the room was now very tired, poor decor and musty smelling, and the bathroom was a disgrace, with mouldy tile grouting and leaking radiator which flooded the floor. The TV didn't work and there were no teabags, just empty packets.I... We encourage our guests to give us feedback at the time of visit. Our rooms have been recently refurbished and we have not had any emails. I am unsure when you stayed or whether it is actually the correct hotel that you are referring to. I would welcome the chance to discuss this with you whilst we realise that some... More

If you like 70's decor along with the musty smell that comes with an old hotel...this is it! The rooms were large and on first glace looked ok...till you ventured deeper. The lamps were all odd, the bathroom was a disgrace and the room attendents need training on how to clean a toilet.....yuk! Towels were old and thread bare. Bathroom... More

The bedrooms at the Crofters were built in 1994 and are indeed some of the largest in the area. They have flat screen TVs, DVD players, ironing facilities, tea and coffee making facilities. We make sure prices are great value. Most of our guests have enjoyed our refurbished rooms and have appreciated the efforts involved. Obviously it is upsetting to... More

First of all to find such a homely, value for money, hotel is somewhat hard to come by these days. I paid £49.00 for both myself and my partner for a double room including breakfast. I was greeted at the somewhat informal reception desk, by a member of staff that actually made us feel welcome and as if to make... More

Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely positive review. We strive to be the best value for money around. As an independent hotel, we don't have the massive marketing budgets of the large chains, so thank you for telling your friends! I hope to see you again. More

Bathroom was tired, shower head was broken. Towels were ragged. Bed was really comfy. Staff were fantastic. Beer was excellent, pool table broken. Did not eat here but food we saw coming out looked excellent. Breakfast was yummy, shame no black pudding..... Sat near window and the window sills were dirty... Excellent value for money, in difficult times, I wish... More

Excellent, friendly staff - all very welcoming. The (double) room was very spacious with a comfortable bed, decent TV set and free WiFi. The bathroom was fine as well, with a corner bath and shower unit. The location of the hotel is practical rather than scenic but easy to find and with good access to/from the M6. There is ample... Thank you for taking the time to review in such a positive manner. I am glad that you enjoyed the Tavern food. It is one of the few places left locally that actually cooks the food from fresh and our guests seem to appreciate the effort! Hope to see you again soon. More

The positives: well located; equidistant between Blackpool and Preston. The room was well-appointed with modern fittings and spacious bathroom, with an ample-sized bath.Comfortable bed, despite the well-pubicised squeak! Brasserie and pub on hand should you not be inclined to go further afield for food and drink. Breakfast was plentiful and served promptly. The negatives: souless, tired, oldfashioned and at times...
