We couldn't have been happier with our winter weekend at Harfleet house: the house is decorated in a fun and theatrical style, the bedroom was stunning and the welcome was extremely friendly and helpful. More like staying in a spa hotel than a B&B!

Dating from 1250, Harfleet House is one of the most impressive and imposing period homes within Sandwich, one of the historic Cinque Ports. Originally a wealthy Merchant’s House and now Grade II listed, it is a superb example of a medieval hall house, “among the best surviving medieval merchant houses in the whole of England”, with a small courtyard behind the front range and an undercroft (stone cellar) dating back to Norman times. It has a three-storey jettied front range and a hall behind.
