Had a fantastic five course Sunday lunch today to celebrate my husband's and I wedding anniversary. The lunch was excellent and the staff very courteous and attentive. We have been celebrating our anniversary at this hotel for past six years and will continue to do so for future anniversary's.

The Walpole Bay Hotel has been one of our favourite places, as well as being a fully functioning hotel, it is also a living museum. Restored to how it was in the 1930's When we got married my wife and I stayed here on our wedding night, so on our 10th anniversary we decided to treat ourselves to a night... More

Stayed two nights in late May on room 104. The main reason for choosing this hotel was to take our two golden retrieves however when we arrived we realised the added bonus of being in a truly unique venue. Plenty of free on street parking and smooth check in. Our room was large with a balcony and great sea views.... More

We stayed her for 2 nights over the late May bank holiday with another couple. I had been in contact before to change the rooms and the email response was both prompt and helpful. We arrived before 4pm and were greeted by friendly staff and our rooms were ready so we were able to drop our bags and start our... More

I booked this as a special treat! Was it worth it.... "Oh Yes". I knew as soon as we arrived that I had made the right choice, Zoe on reception, remembered our conversation on the phone from about a month before, this made me feel at ease staight away. It's a step back in time when you walk in, makes... More

This hotel is like a history lesson but in a good way. The rooms are all in keeping with the 1940s feel. High beds, wash stands period furniture, wallpaper it is a wonderful step back in time but with all mod cons and wonderful sea views. Staying here reminded me of seaside holidays with my parents in the 1950s and... More

This is the kind of hotel that you don't think exists anymore: it's completely personal and is unafraid of being totally quirky. When I first walked around, I wasn't convinced that I was going to share my friend's enthusiasm for the vintage chic that manifests in a lot of antique clutter on display in all the hallways. But the bedroom... More
