Real quality establishment! True comfort & care! Couldn't have been better looked after & what a fantastic view from the grand bedroom & dining room. Afternoon tea a dream following a perfect lunch at the New Inn, Shalfleet. Can't wait to return!

Clean and friendly B&B. Quality furnishings and decor in a house of character. Quiet location a few minutes walk from Totland Bay village. Good view from the double room. Above average - but then you are paying an above average price. Driving on the unmade road will test the quality of your suspension. Little choice in the village for an... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in late Feb 2011. It's an Arts and Crafts house, which has been restored in sympathetic style, with its original oak panelling and many period features. The cosy wood panelled lounge (with bookcase filled with books on local interest) has a beautiful view out across the large garden towards the Needles and the sea,... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Strang Hall is a beautiful Arts & Crafts style house, built in 1924 for a wealthy American family as their holiday home. Standing in its own grounds above Totland Bay, it has stunning views of the sea, the downland and the village below. We bought Strang Hall in 2005 and after restoration and renovation, opened a year later as a B & B. We have tried to retain as much of the original joinery, fittings and furniture as possible, whilst sorting out the plumbing! In the main part of the house we have two guest bedrooms, both with original fitted wardrobes, fixtures & fittings. They have wonderful sea and downland views; each has its own private bathroom. The Garden Suite consists of a double bedroom, ensuite bathroom/dressing room and sitting room. It occupies the ground and mezzanine floors of the 1928 wing; it has its own direct access to the garden. The guest dining room is very restful with golden oak joinery, white walls and Spode The gardens are just over an acre and are an ongoing restoration project. ... more   less
