I attended a wedding at Bush Hall. The service was terrible: it took about half an hour to buy a few simple drinks from the bar. The food at the meal was totally disgusting. Nobody on our table ate their main course -- really fatty and tasteless lamb. And the hotel smelled damp, even though it was 25 degrees outside.... More

I stayed here on business for 1 night as I prefer older more characterful hotels than the more bountiful Travelodge/HIE/Premier Inn's in the area. The cost was pretty much in line with the standard of the room - I paid £90 for a double room (which was really only a big single room made small by putting a double bed... More

I held my wedding & reception at Bush Hall on July 2006 and I can honestly say I cannot fault them. the staff from our very 1st visit to the morning after the wedding were superb and nothing was too much trouble. The excellence and competence had my special day run like clock work. The food was excellent, and to... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this pleasant hotel in Hertfordshire, the restaurant was superb, food and service were on top par. There was a wedding taking place in the hotel at the time but this did not take away from our stay at all. All the staff members were extremely attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them.... Bush hall was a great experience. The historical hotel is in a lovely setting. The staff at the reception were competent and very friendly. The rooms were clean but a little small. We had dinner at the excellent restaurant - very good selection of food and wine. We'll be back.

I have stayed here several times now on business . Plus points: Great location, especially when the weather is good. The hotel is set in land with streams, bridges, meadows and woodland. If you enjoy country walks there are some short walks too. Resteraunt food is good (if overpriced, see below). Good ingridients Rooms are clean Downsides: The rooms are... More

After a recent stay, I have now visited this hotel some three times in the last two years. I have greatly enjoyed each visit. The hotel, a beautiful old converted country house, is set in attractive grounds and is easily accessible from Motorways and major roads in the area. The staff are very courteous and become better and better on... More

Stayed overnight here following a wedding held at the hotel. A bit nervous after reading the only other Tripadvisor review, but it was fine for a one night stay. Double room with ensuite was comfortable but like a sauna on arrival, had to turn off the (two) radiators and open the window! Didn't get to sample the restaurant for an evening... More

Whilst the hotel looks reasonably impressive driving up to it, disappointment sets in very rapidly when one is confronted by the poor service, and disinterested staff. We ate in the restaurant - which had an exciting menu, lovely surroundings and reasonable service, but every dish we chose was unpalatable. The quality of the food was very poor generally, and since... More
