This is the worst travelodge in England! We had a awful room facing the A35. We were told the traffic calmed nown after 8pm,it didnt! As we were still awake it calmed down around 1am and became noisy again at 5am. So not much sleep. The room was definitely needing refurbishing. The toilet blocked early morning so we were happy... We were quite surprised at the size of our room, it was massive, normally family rooms are bigger than just the double but this was bigger than average so was very please, bit of a trek to the room tho, the main things that let it down was the huge mould stains on the ceiling in both the main room... I am stunned by the reviews on here. I booked very early on the morning of arrival therefore had not checked out the reviews previously. During the day I had a call from the hotel to check that the room they had (double) was okay, answered the phone promptly and courtesly took less than 15 seconds to arrive at reception... More

We are a family of two adults and five children so booked two rooms for a one night stay. The staff on the check in were very polite and friendly. The rooms however are poor. There are odd stains on the walls and doors, underneath the table in one of the rooms was a brown splattering which one of my... More

Bad from start to finish. Have literally had better nights sleep in tents and have seen better rooms in youth hostels. The bed is uncomfortable and we got one very flat pillow each, there isn't even a phone in the room to call down to reception for more so you'd have to trek all the way back and wait a... More

Echo previous comments on the tired nature of this hotel. In terms of positives, the service at reception, on arrival, was swift, friendly and efficient and the road noise was not too bad, given the proximity to the main road. Now onto the negatives, there's more of these! I have stayed at a number of other Travelodges around the UK,... More

I will be honest, I am not paricularly adventurous with my holidays, and have done exactly the same trip for the last few years, at about this time of year. Last year howver, while the hotel was fine, the customer service and booking website were poor - It took many tries to book, and when I did get there, I... More

I booked two nights for my boyfriend and I when there was a sale on the rooms so was very chuffed with the price, but was a little worried about what to expect after reading some reviews. We were given a room facing the car park so road noise was to a minimum. Yes the rooms are a little dated,... More

Stayed once on business (husband only) as there was a very good price offer (£12 a night). Once again, basic Travelodge which is not a patch on Premier Inn, however pleasantly surprised with the size of the room -- much bigger than usual. Also pleasantly surprised that although my window was only a matter of feet from the busy A31... More

Imagine a run down youth hostel where they can't afford cleaners and the maintainence man retired three years ago....... Got it? Sleep in the car instead.
