The White Horse was recommended to us by a couple who use the hotel frequently when doing business in the area. It did not dissappoint, being cosy and comfortable and well equiped. The food at the Brasserie was excellent but unfortunately the potions on the 2 course dinner menu were very inadequate for us. We have reasonably small appetites but... More

Dear Guest Thank you for taking the time to add your comments to TripAdvisor. It is always helpful to recieve consrtuctive criticism so we can improve our standards. The size of the portions on the 2/3 course menu are reflected in the pricing which we believe to be exceptional value - maybe 3 courses would have been a better option... More

Stayed here for 2 nights and would come back. Especially the bar and restaurant are worth a recommendation. The staff is very friendly and trained. Have to give a special thumbs up for the barkeeper working during our stay. If you're looking for a downside (like I always do when browsing on trip advisor), it would be the fact that... More

We have had lunches in the Restaurant several times recently while entertainining aging relativesfrom the area and on each occasion we have have well cooked and served meals at very good value. The service is good too. Style is modern British and very nicely done. We'll be back some more!!

The White Horse has been completely renovated since our first visit some years ago and the entrance moved to the side, which was a little confusing on arrival. As before, the hotel is very welcoming, and the staff couldn't have been more kind and helpful. The valet parking service mentioned on the the web site wasn't available, but the directions... More

The White Horse Hotel has undergone a massive refurbishment and is now a superb place to eat. Choose either the simple brasserie set menu at £14 for two course or splash out on the a la carte. In either case you will not be disappointed. Although we have not stayed we have seen the rooms which are all different and... More

My wife and I stayed for a short weekend break in March 2012. This hotel and brasserie is so good and our room was top notch and very spacious. I have stayed at the White Horse twice, both times for work, and although not a "business" hotel the staff were extremely helpful in trying to accommodate what we needed. The rooms were well furnished and the bathrooms spotless. Breakfast was extensive and nicely presented with a good range.

We visited The White Horse Hotel for Mothers day lunch the meal was outstanding all served by very friendly and helpful staff. The fourth star and second rosette is well deserved. Sincere compliments to the young Head Chef and his team. We enjoyed ourselves so much we have booked a table for another meal.

Stayed for 2 nights for work purposes and it was fantastic. Comfortable room, brilliant service and perfect location. The food in the restaurant was also fabulous and reasonably priced.
