Took our kids here for a short break over half-term. The hotel was extremely clean and comfortable. The staff were soooooo friendly. Breakfast was excellent and the hotel bar a real bonus. I have promised my kids we will return!

Just outside centre of southend at Thorpe Bay on the sea front road, perfect distance away from hustle of the town. Myself and my husband have stayed here a lot. Staff wonderful and very helpful. Food in restaurant excellent. We stayed a week ago with friends for my husbands birthday and we were unfortunately put in a very small room... More

Stayed here at the end of April, easy to find, with ample car parking at the rear, and only a 15-20 minute stroll in to Southend Town Centre. Went to check in and were given a free upgrade to a seeview suite in the annex next door room D. We were very impressed, had a 3 piece suite, dining table... More

Excellent hotel with the most friendly and helpful staff I've come across ! Reception staff were particularly great. Our suite was amazing. Clean and fully equipped with everything you could need. The bed was as comfortable as my own ! Lovely outdoor area for sitting out in which we did and loved ! Breakfast was superb, so tasty and not... More

Just returned from a weekend break had a wonderful stay. Would definitely recommend this hotel, nothing was too much trouble. Good food. Newly decorated room, ideal location. Enjoyed every part of our stay. South end on sea was clean and well kept. Just a 10 minute walk to the centre and pier, recommend a walk down the pier, it's a... More

We stayed here recently for work as we were filming in the area, and it was brilliant. The staff were really helpful and even let us stay in the bar after closing after a long shoot day! Food was perfect and the beds were so comfy, view was awesome on to the sea! Thank you for everything Camelia :) x

We booked this hotel after reading reviews on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed. From my first telephone conversation with Reception to our arrival and helpful staff we were not disappointed. We ate in on the first night and the food and service were excellent, our room was beautifully clean and we overlooked the water, not blue but interesting... More

Due to a traffic jam on the M25 we missed our flight back to Belfast from Southend. At 7.30 we decided to drive into Southend and search for a place to stay the night. The Camelia Hotel was the most appealing hotel from the exterior along the shore so we stopped off and asked for 2 single rooms. The lady... More

We stayed here for 1 night with our 18 month old daughter. We were just staying overnight after a wedding and simply needed somewhere to sleep - but this hotel had so much more. From booking on the phone and being advised about the most suitable room to have a cot in (at no extra charge) to the fantastic service... More

My husband and I were visiting a relative near Southend and booked this hotel very last minute and decided to stay here due to the good reviews. I cannot compliment the owners and their family enough particularly Jamie and Abby (hope I have the names right!) who made sure we had a brilliant stay. We even received a call after... More
