If passing through Chelmsford this is the place to stay. Rooms tend to go very quick so book early. Rooms are well presented, clean and tidy with free Internet access. The selection if food, beers and wine is fantastic and I have no hesitation in recommending a stay here.

stayed here on business for two nights from America. Great and friendly staff. Comfortable and clean rooms. The exterior is loaded with old fashioned charm, yet the interior was perfectly modern and comfortable. The restaurant was excellent. I will definitely be staying here again on my travels.

the lion is a nice place to eat, fresh food, food piping hot, and even on a busy saterday night you are not kept waiting for long .what really makes this place though is the effectiness of the staff, always happy and eager to please without being pushy , love going there .
