Never stayed here but the restaurant is good. Food of a high standard and the wine list had a tasty choice at a reasonable cost. Service a little slow (took 15 minutes after being seated to be approached) but didnt mind as we were chatting and getting settled anyway. Will be back :-)

Second visit in a week as we had such a great supper with excellent service earlier in week. Went last night (Saturday). It was very busy and the girl who served us must have been on her first night... with no training given. When we asked for olives she said she would wait and put the order through with diner....

We live in Southwold but had stopped going to the Crown because of the terrible scrum for tables, it was bot very clean and you could not book. Thankfully all has changed - the bar is now spotless, you can book and the food is great again. Warmly recommended.
An excellent time was had last week end at the Crown. We couldn't get a room at The Swan but the crown was an excellent choice.
We arrived around 5:00 to the hotel which was easy to find and a carpark behind the hotel. There is some on street parking on Sunday as well.

Relaxed informal elegance but with an excellent standard not only of rooms but breakfast, restaurant food, snug bar and last but my no means least wine and beer !
