We stayed here last week for 1 night. Overall a lovely little hotel. Room was quite spacious and very clean. We had evening meal in the restaurant- pan fried lemon chicken with tagliatelle, which was very tasty. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The small garden was very peaceful to sit in on a lovely sunny evening. Would... More

we stayed at the hotel on the night of the 17th February after a day at Fakenham races which the wensum lodge is ideally located for. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, the hotel was clean and the room nicely presented and very comfortable. We didnt eat dinner but the the breakfast was good. What was exceptional though were... More

My Wife and I stayed at this hotel on the 14th & 15th Dec. 2011 in order to visit Thursford for the show which incidentally was brilliant! The reception desk was small and difficult to find but the staff and check in procedure were faultless. The building is a converted mill which was evident from the decor and atmosphere but... More

We stayed as part of a party overnight as we were to visit Thursford. The first impresion we had on entering was the smell. The bar area, which leads into a dining/function area smelt of stale cabbage. We were checked in very efficiently and taken to our room by the reception staff who we could not fault. The hallways and... More

Book here for a few nights with my employees. Rooms very nice and clean with a contempory feel. All you would expect. Check in quick and pleasant. Breakfast very, very average. We were working long hours therefore decided to eat in the hotel. Although there is no Restaurant as such, you have to order food from bar area and eat... More

The Christmas decorations are up in our function room early. This is due to the large number of coach parties that drop in for a Xmas dinner on their way to the Thursford Xmas show which starts in November More

The location next to what looked like a mill pond was lovely and the hotel was only 5 mins walk from the town centre. We chose to stay in Fakenham as we were planning to visit different places in the area. The hotel itself is lovely but it does need updating and brightening up. The dark brown and red from... More

Stayed in the Wensum Lodge for one night in September 11 on Business. The room was very basic and dated however it had character and a comfy bed and a great shower which was all that was required. The restaurant was large and airy and the menu was what I would expect from a country inn. The food was however... More

We can't really understand the negative reviews about this hotel. We had a helpful and friendly welcome on arrival, our room was clean and well-maintained and the breakfast was very good. The hotel is perhaps slightly over priced although is well-located and was absolutely fine for an overnight stay for my wife and I and our 2 year old daughter.... More

What a terrible place!!! Went for Sunday lunch and waited over half an hour for it to arrive. Gravy was vile, beef tasteless and the broccoli Frozen in the middle!! Spoke to the chef about it, who turned out to also be the owner and had obviously heard it all before!! Very pricey, horrible dining room, worse atmosphere and food... More
