I recently took my wife here for a trip down memory lane, being a frequent family destination some 35 to 40 years ago when I was a kid. Although we did read some negative reviews it had gone down hill, mostly by previous owners, i.e not clean, poor service etc we still proceeded with our booking. From what we saw it was mostly good and I'm keeping my fingers crossed it's new owners will bring it back to its former glory. While some others feedback might be valid, it seems some people are expecting a modern day resort and forgetting that this place is a motel. Our room (a deluxe), and one facing the entrance road (not the pool) was nice and clean and everything you would expect from a motel room for the price and had all the facilities from a hairdryer, TV to air con as advertised. I loved seeing all the the Kangaroo's and Birds. The club certain still has a magical relaxation vibe about it. We are fussy with food, but found the restaurant, food and service was actually excellent and we had breakfast and dinner there each day. By todays standards the restaurant would no longer regarded an expensive place to eat as it was in the 80s. In fact, it's compatible to many pub prices which is awesome given it's location. The location still ranks supreme if your not bothered about being right on the riverfront. The pool is again available but sadly the Hot Tub is Long gone. Furthermore, all staff were friendly at all times from reception to the chef, and in all instances we were served within seconds. Can you please skim the pool every few hours and also please get the lawn growing back on the grass area between the pool and rooms. Also, please get the Street Lanterns working once again on the entry lane, it's adds a certain appeal/Classic charm that I missed from 1983.…

Booked on line 2 hours before arrival. Upon driving in @7.00 pm discovered it was locked and nobody around despite the sign on the door clear stating COVID hours are open till 8.00pm. Rang the after hours number a few times to find a gentleman who said l have had a few wines. I can’t drive. After some to & froing was advised someone would come. 40 mins later we were standing there with two other guest who had also paid on line. A young lady turn up. Provided a key to Our room which was well and truly past it’s use by date. Never again, shame really because a few years back it was my regular stopover for work. Don’t waste you money!!

Have stayed here many times on business and family trips. The accommodation is old but well kept, clean and spacious. I stayed here originally as the restaurant was fantastic for dinner and breakfast. Unfortunately the restaurant has taken a significant dive. No cooked breakfast available, the dinner meals no where near the standard they were. As this is a long way from town, grabbing a meal is now difficult.
