Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A wonderful lunch at Temperance restaurant at the Hotel Renmark. Thanks Hugh and his team for the wonderful food and Mel for the great matched wines. Highly recommend. Worth the trip from Melbourne. Note: please check opening times and book ahead as this is going to be popular. We didn’t sample the wares of the rest of the hotel but it has been tastefully renovated and looked very inviting.

We had a wonderful dining experience at the Hotel Renmark's new fine dining offering 'Temperance'. From the welcome drinks and canapes through to the delicious main offering perfectly matched with a variety of wines our experience was fantastic. Excellent service from friendly staff and full credit to Hugh the head chef for preparing such an exciting menu. We will certainly be back.

Poor service. Not up with modern day dietary needs. No vegetarian or vegan options. Offered a side salad as a meal, as the only option for vegetarians (there were 4 within our group). Were not flexible with dietary needs and were so direct and rude, including the manager.

Visited Hotel Renmark's fine dine restaurant Temperance last night for the degastation menu and would go back tonight if I could. The food was absolutely amazing, there was not 1 thing we didn't enjoy. So many beautiful dishes with pairings I never would have thought of. The service was amazing, the restaurant manager was so attentive and interactive which really personalised the experience. They even did a little happy Birthday cake plate for me and my friends and when we left they gave us a little boxed gift which was the most delicious chocolate. We were incredibly pleased with our experience and will definitely be going back.

We stayed one night. Very appreciative of the early check in. We stayed in a historic room on the second floor with great views of the river. Good size room with a comfortable bed, very quiet. Large bathroom with good water pressure. There is also a small museum showing what the rooms at the hotel were like.

Our meal took forever due to an apparent printing issue. We watch as those who complained about the time it was taking we’re served their dinner before us. There was also an issue with Telstra services so we were unable to withdraw cash. At 8.30 the doors from the main bar to the gaming room were closed with no explanation about how to access the gaming room.

Chicken Maryland -$33. Piece of chicken plonked on a pile of mashed potatoes with about half a dozen roasted coloured carrots. The chicken was bland, the carrots were burned and the mash was super salty. My hubby had the fish - grilled - barely cooked and not much of a salad to go with it. Pretty disappointing for the cost.

What a lovely setting. An iconic community owned heritage hotel overlooking the River Murray. It offers a range of accommodation from budget hotel rooms through to deluxe rooms including spa baths. Our’s was a Riverview Balcony suite. It was good solid accommodation that reflected some degree of renovation work completed back a bit. The hotel appears to be on a planned program to constantly upgrade its facilities. The dining and upstairs Terrace spaces appear to have been recently upgraded. Both very nice. Our Riverview Balcony suite was pretty much as described: “sweeping views of the Murray River from the balcony. The rooms feature a queen-size bed and a sofa bed, 32” LCD HD television, air conditioning, heating, telephone, refrigerator, FOXTEL, off-street parking, tea and coffee facilities and En-suite bathroom. Free wireless internet. Iron and board. Non-smoking.” The balcony was a bit tight though (2 chairs & no table or bench). The provided ash tray suggests that smoking (possibly on the balcony) may be OK. We thinks ‘Not OK’ for others in the vicinity. We found the on-street parking safer and more convenient. The provided Wi-Fi was good quality and worked well across a number of devices. The room had an old-style hold-in-your-hands compendium that was extremely useful and easy to use. So sick of unreliable hi tech QR-code type compendiums. The walk-in shower was excellent. Plenty of pressure, plenty of room, plenty of hot water and easy to use taps. Pump style soap, shampoo & conditioner were excellent. We really struggle with those tiny soap, shampoo and conditioner tubes found in other places. We think people have rediscovered the pumps thanks to COVID-19. We had dinner in the hotel dining room (Nanya) and it was delicious. The service was excellent. The ‘Renmark Paringa Visitor Information Centre’ is directly across the road. What an awesome find that was. Check-in was efficient and friendly. Check-out is magic. Leave your key cards and just walk away. There’s no mini-bar or other extras.

We stayed three nights in the motel section for a 'getaway' time together. The Hotel Renmark is just a lovely place to stay, central, with great river views and walking distance to some key venues notably the Renmark Club. The staff are fantastic and the restaurant is quite comfortable (recently renovated it appears) with lovely food. Except for a couple of places the riverfront has recovered very well. Access to the PS Industry was unavailable whilst some repairs were underway otherwise it was all go. It was a great and relaxing stay made all the better by a SA Government Tourism voucher.
