We noted the other comments about how poor the caravan park was, so this stimulated us to write a review. My suggestion for those who don't like dust and dirt is to consider travelling in Tasmania. For those of us who love the outback (which commonly comes with dust), The CP was situated amongst wonderful desert views and colours, fantastic... More

After reading the info on web site we decided that this was the place for us. What a disappointment ,the amenities were very ordinary. Showers that did not work, very little water pressure in the couple that did work. The maintenance was non existent and the staff really had no idea what was going on as there seemed to be no... More

Although its an interesting place and worth the drive in to see, if you don't like dust and dirt don't stay the night. The caravan park was like a dust bowl and the amenities were dusty and dirty, wasn't a pleasant experience and we couldn't wait to get out of there the next morning. We had a meal at the... More

We decided to book a room rather than camp as we arrived late and the weather looked threatening. We stayed in the Greenwood lodge. It was very basic and dated, but we had what we needed. The Greenwood lodge has use of a shared kitchen and lounge/dining area. The ovens were a challenge to use without the instructions but we... More

You must go to Arkaroola!! The staff at Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary are the best!! They are so accommodating, helpful and pleasant. We had a wonderful Ridge Top 4wheel drive tour. The scenery is magnificent and the tour guide was so informative. 4wheel driving is not for everyone but we thoroughly enjoyed the rough terrain and thank goodness we had a... More

On a recent 4WD trip with some friends, we decided to include Arkaroola on the itinerary. We arrived around 6pm and as such had to wait at the bar to be able to pay for unpowered sites, as per the instructions on the sign at the main counter. We waited, and waited, watched the 2 girls waiting the restaurant and... More

We occupied the Wallaby Cottage which was disappointing and on reflection I do feel we were let down. The cottage is a bungalow "decorated' in white painted cinder or breeze block. Other issues included no shower rail/glass resulting in a drop in the tiles and a very wet toilet, hole in a screen blind stuffed with a paper napkin, door... More

Arkaroola is a wonderful example of what it means to get out into the backblocks to observe nature at its most rugged. We travelled in February, so it was pretty hot, but we were able to cope quite easily with the dry heat. We stayed in a room in Calitris Lodge which was quite comfortable, clean, spacious and well serviced.... More

We had a 4WD camper and two small children and the caravan section did not appeal because of the distance to the pool and dining room. It was very hot and dry (summer) so we decided to take a room in one of the cottages. Room was very clean and was a queen bed with a double fold-out sofa bed.... More

Booked in for two nights, stayed one. Arrived to find staff unhelpful as to astronomy facilities, room scruffy to say the least and only stayed to use the observatory. Went to the briefing place as scheduled, waited an hour, no one turned up. No one answered phone. Drove up to observatory site a number of times to find it unattended.... More
