I don't have time to gush about how much I loved this hostel. The location was perfect, Horseshoe Bay is a great spot, and good to start any treks from. The Koala Village was so cool - holding crocodiles and snakes and lizards and koalas was unreal. The staff was helpful and fun, events at the bar every night. The... More

Bungalow Bay YHA is a perfect escape from everything else Australia has to offer with a beautiful beach 100metres down the road to the BBQing and coconut bowling at the hostels bar on select nights. Great place to meet some people, relax by the pool, have a couple beers and relax. The next day when youre nursing your handover you... More

This is one of my favourite hostels in Australia. If you love wildlife you are in for a treat here. The lorikeet feeding in the afternoon is just amazing. Ive never seen anything like it, its just wonderful! I have to say that the breakfast with the animals is absolutely worth it! You get to hold lots of animals and... More

Stayed here for 2 nights and had a lovely time. Were welcomed by friendly staff, and within a very short time we were in our A frame Bungalow , in a beautiful peaceful setting. Then it was off to discover the Island, did a lot of walks, then a swim and a wandered down to the beach, a 5 minute walk... More

Stayed here for two nights whilst on Magnetic Island. Im undecided whether i liked it or not, it was kinda strange. The bungalow dorm we stayed in were full of insects but i wasn't as bothered as some of the others in the dorm. Kitchen wasn't nice. Sorry i can't be more helpful, Koala's were lovely though!

This is a nice hostel in a good location, just 5 mins walk from Horseshoe Bay but far enough back to feel very peaceful. We stayed in a 2 person room which comes in the form of a small hut set on the lawns; the bed was comfy, there was a lovely little balcony on the front and it had... More

I stayed here with my partner for two nights. We booked a private double room. This equated to a tiny bungalow with room only for a double bed and a fridge. I was surprised and extremely disappointed not only at the size of the space but the fact that we had paid for the most expensive room and had to... More

BB is very reasonable value for Magnetic Island. It's run as a youth hostel/family campground by a young staff who are easy-going and competent. The grounds themselves are clean, as are the rooms and amenities. The A-frame bungalows that we stayed in had a comfortably firm queen sized inner-spring mattress on a futon base, a bar fridge, an air-conditioner, and... More

On the whole a nice hostel with fantastic location. This feels like a family style hostel as a posed to a party hostel, the bar closes really early. The dorm rooms could do with a toilet and shower block near as the 8 bed dorm has only one toilet and one shower. One of the staff (blonde girl with glasses) was... More
