Our stay here in February was a very different and unforgettable experience. The room was fabulous - very spacious, huge, comfy bed, efficient AC, well-appointed bathroom. We also chose to eat in the restaurant and had an excellent meal. But the highlight had to be the opportunity to explore the zoo before and after hours - accompanied by young emus... More

Donna and Gil are terrific hosts. They are helpful, friendly and big hearted folks who created the zoo and the B&B out of a deep sense of love for animals, their relationship with one another and the land. We were planning on staying ONE night and we ended up there for almost a week before returning to Cairns. The room... More

This accommodation was a treasure from beginning to end. The owners were extremely friendly and hospitable. The whole experience of sleeping over the zoo was just so cool. We took a tour on arrival (only $13 when you stay overnight) and really enjoyed the full array of Australian wildlife, particularly how the kangaroos come right up to you and feed... More

We recently spent 2 nights in the Rosella room. The room was large, plenty of room for the 5 of us. The beds were comfortable and most importantly, the room was cool. There are two ceiling fans and an air conditioner. In this section, there are a shared shower and toilet, these were very clean. We were given unlimited access... More

Staying overnight in a zoo was a little unusual and we weren't sure what to expect and I'm still not sure if it was zen like or simply weird, so probably best to split into good bad: Thumbs up Amazing room and ensuite! The king bed was sooo comfy. Close to Cape Tribulation ferry and Daintree village. Delicious continental breakfast.... More

We stayed at Daintree Wild for three nights and found it a great base to experience the Daintree region and Cape Trib. In hindsight we probably would have spent an extra night in the resort at Port Douglas and only two nights here would have been enough to explore the region. The room was very large and comfortable, but sharing... More

My husband and I stayed here in December 2010 for two nights and thoroughly loved it! We stayed in an Aviary Room which is located on the upper level of the main building and overlooks the zoo - stunning outlook and access to the animals! The rooms were beautifully appointed and the bed was huge and very comfortable. The floors... More

This place is staggeringly beautiful and your hosts are awesome. The zoo itself is the sort of place where you can see the animals welfare is put first and the owners really care about them more than squeezing dollars out of you. For instance, unlike many Queensland zoos, they don't have Koalas up here because it is too hot for... More

My mother and I booked this place online - we'd stayed at the wetlands the night before so I thought I'd stick with an 'animal theme' - so pleased I was being silly at the time. Our stay at the zoo was fantastic and my mother loved the place (she's not that easily pleased). The owners are all about looking... More

I stayed at the zoo for two nights at the end of July with my wife and 14 year old daughter. As with the previous reviews I can confirm the breakfast is excellent with a large range of exotic fruits, cereals, toast, croissants, fruit smoothie and choice of tea or coffee. We had two evenings meals which were both were... More
