All the rooms look out over the estuary which is really nice. Our room was clean but small. There were rooms that had been recently renovated but there were non available and I'm not sure the extra charge would have been worth it. We were disappointed to find there was no breakfast available and we had to walk down the... More

Stayed for one night following Australia Day in the new rooms and was very impressed. The room was clean, comfortable and pleasant sitting on the balcony. Not keen on the older rooms but the new refurbished rooms will be my choice whenever I am back. The front staff were also very helpful and made our stay pleasant.

I think all rooms have a water view. Some rooms are newer and better appointed. We stayed in a fairly basic option, but with the rain coming and planning to stay only one night it was ok. The upshot is that it is very well located near the water. But since the town is quite small one could stay anywhere.... More

I have stayed at the Seaview Motel twice, each time being for about 5-6 nights. The rooms I stayed in were always across the driveway from the pool and office building. The rooms were always clean and the staff friendly on check-in and check-out. One night I forgot to shut the louvres (windows) in the bathroom, and came home to a... More

We have been staying at The Seaview for years. The view is unbeatable. Rooms range from older-style, 60s-vintage motel rooms to newer and roomier versions. Most rooms have wonderful views of the Endeavour River. In the older rooms the walls are thin and your balcony is a shared walkway - so there's not much privacy. If your neighbours are loud... More

We stayed two nights in a motel room-2 adults 2 children, we need rollaway bed so we were all lined up in our beds. The rooms are small and compact and old fashioned - think 60's-70's It was great having a kitchen sink, fridge and basic kitchen appliances so we could prepare breakfast and snacks in our room. TV is... More

Not luxurious, but basic. This is an adequate motel. Biggest positive is the sunset view over the bay. If travelling from Port Douglas (as most people do), get there in plenty of time to relax watching the sunset. Bottle of wine, some nibbles, sitting in the gardens watching the sun set over the bay. Worth the visit for that. Then... More

The seaview motel has the best location ever. We have so many pictures of unbelievable sunsets, and artistic views of the Endeavor River. The room we had has a little kitchen, witch was perfect for our breakfast every morning of our 5 night stay. Everybody says "what are you going to do for 5 days in Cooktown!" but we ran... More
