Has to be one of the only places on the east coast of australia where you can see the sun set over water (Endeavour River) and it is a magestic sunset to boot. The motel rooms are standard and quite basic but clean and comfortable. $110 for a Motel room does not represent good value however. It's a stones throw... More

We had a lovely one night stay at this Motel. We had a motel room in a separate building with views straight over the Endeavour River. We were fortunate, I feel, to have the corner room which afforded us a beautiful outlook from the front of our room (room 15). This room also had a new bathroom which was lovely.... More

Right from the moment of check in the tone was set. Poor customer service, balcony dirty floor, uncomfortable bed and no microwave in room. For the price I expected more as we had a second floor beachfront unit and we were disappointed. Found the road in front of the units very noisy with people yelling and swearing all hours of... More

Stayed two nights, we had a budget room and a standard room, both quite good for price, $99 & $110 we actually spent more time at the budget room due to the great verandah. The budget room also had a kitchen sink which was better thantritong to fill a kettle in the bathroom sink like the standard room. The standard... More

This is the second time I have stayed at this motel in Cooktown. I stayed with my friend in one of the motel's 2-bedroom townhouse apartments, which I thoroughly recommend. The unit was clean, comfortable, spacious and the views from our private balcony over the Cook River estuary, with mountains in the background are to die for! The management and... More

I travel to Cooktown frequently and I've stayed at the Seaview probably forty times over the last 12 years, the lastest being February 2013. I've also stayed at many other Cooktown motels and hotels. The Seaview has, without a doubt, the best location in Cooktown. The views are sensational, it's an easy walk to the jetty and to local eateries... More

I was in Cooktown for 4 nights. Spent the first night at a more expensive hotel (Sovereign Resort Hotel ), but I liked the Seaview better. I stayed 2 nights in one of the "vintage" rooms at the top of the hotel ( on the hill), and then 1 night in the more expensive newer part by the road. The... More

Staff go out of their way to help at this waterfront motel. Rooms overlook the Endeavour River and there is a lawn at the front with barbecue facilities. Collect your breakfast items from reception the evening before. Worth staying several days as there is plenty to do in Cooktown and the surrounding area.

Stayed here for 3 nights with another couple in a 2 bedroom unit in mid-Nov. 2012. The view was lovely although I wouldn't say it was the sea, the river estuary is more like it - not that that matters much. The unit was very basic. We ate lunches and dinners out so only did breakfasts in the unit. There... More

We stayed at the Seaview Motel - we were worried that we would be given a upstairs room. As my husband and I have a little problem with walking . We were so pleased when we asked what room had they booked for us and it was a ground floor one. Directly looking out onto Endeavour Bay. Beautiful! The rooms... More
