Stayed in a two bedroom apartment and although the pool was lovely and front staff pleasant and always helpful, found the apartment dark and oddly furnished. Not my preferred place to stay. More

We stayed two nights with our young children. After the long drive the huge pool was what we needed. The room was clean and spacious. Locations is superb within walking distance to everything. More

Really enjoyed our stay at cooktown and sovereign resort ok but the two bedroom apartment we booked was disappointing expected a kitchen so I could prepare food for my children but only a microwave and no dishes to even heat food up in. Although free wifi had to do it from balcony as not in our room. Also don't know... More

We stayed one night and at the back of the resort which showed newer motel type rooms. Good size double bed and settee facing into the pool area, bathroom of a good size and at least good hot water. The bar and restaurant upstairs served very good meals in a open area or inside ,depends of the weather, overall a great... More

After a long trip up to Cooktown, the hotel was a welcome surprise. We had expected something far less comfortable and modern; only because of the remoteness of the town. We took a 2 bedroom apartment upstairs overlooking the main street. Fantastic location and very comfortable. The restaurant was excellent, and another pleasant surprise. More

The drive to Cooktown is quite a long way from the nearest big city but well worth a visit. The steady breeze here makes tempertures in North Queensland more bearable. A 2 or 3 night stay in the Cooktown is sufficient to see all the sights in the area More

On arrival, we were given a warm welcome by the receptionist and check in was a very speedy process. The hotel did not appear to have many guests and it was very quiet. The room was clean and adequate. We enjoyed our cooling off time in the pool at the end of the day. As it was quiet, we had... More

Great spot - Room for improvement. We stayed in a 2 bedroom "apartment" with access to large terrace (shared by two other apartments - which was quite nice because we talked to our neigbours) - good sized living area - bathroom and toilet had been recently upgraded (top marks for the style) - HOWEVER - no extra fans im loo,... We were disappointed with this hotel as it lacked warmth. The room was basic and we didn't enjoy a good sleep as it was noisy outside, the bed was hard and cramped and the airconditioner and fan were both noisy. The bathroom is dark. we ate lunch in the Pub and the salad was soggy and we ate dinner upstairs... More
