We were really pleasantly surprised by the Rose and Crown, which is much better then Web site suggests. I was half expecting a small pub with just a few basic rooms upstairs, but the picture of the pub is misleading. Behind the small village inn facade is a large hotel with 18 bedrooms, all en-suite, with a large bar area... More

We booked the Rose and Crown after my daughter stayed and told us how much she enjoyed it. I have just read a poor review, and must say that I am astounded. The staff were excellent. The room comfortable and clean, with character. The food was excellent and the service exemplary. Despite me being in one of my clumsy moods,... More

We try and eat here once a month and have always been really pleased with the food and service. There is plenty to choose from on the menu with ever-changing specials for starters, mains and desserts. The 'Rose and Crown Classics' remain on the menu at all times and include bangers and mash, fish and chips, gammon, burger, steak etc... More

Stopped at this pub for lunch and was not dissapointed. The food was really good, the staff were helpful and polite, The beer was well kept, and the whole place had a very relaxed feel about it. Would reccomend it to anyone.

Booked this B & B pub on the basis of a positive review in the Sunday Telegraph. We also made reservations for an evening meal as the village has limited facilities. The accommodation was generally very good, the bedroom was well furnished and comfortable although the lighting could have been better and we didn't care for the soap/shampoo/ shower gel... More

Stayed here for dinner, bed and breakfast after reading a very positive newspaper review and seeing Good Pub Guide awards. Although we had reserved a table our time was delayed as the restaurant was so busy. We enjoyed dinner. The menu choice was good and the food tasty if tending to being over elaborate. Room smart, clean and cosy in... More

We have just returned from a fantastic weekend stay here! Would definitely recommend this charming pub to everyone. The service was excellent - in all areas, reception/bar staff/cleaning staff. We loved the food and the deal included a complimentary bottle of wine which was an added bonus! The January deal was excellent value for money. We will be returning soon... More
