The Rockingham is everything a B&B should be. It has a lovely homely feel and is in no way pretentious. Our room had a huge and very comfortable bed. We were impressed at the nice touches - good toiletries, bottled water and biscuits. The hair dryer was so good I wanted to take it home. Very, very good value. A... More

Stayed here in February during the snowy weather and had a great time. The room had everything we needed and was warm and cosy. Breakfast was at whatever time you wanted which was great and had coffee and orange juice on tap. The village was lovely and everyone was really friendly. Three different pubs were all very welcoming. We would... More

Stayed with friends on a two day walking break. The whole place was "just the job" - very comfortable beds, warm rooms, spacy bathroom, large lounge with TV - loads of guide books and a good "full English " to start us off in the mornings. All at a reasonable price. Three pubs (all selling food) within in walking distance... More

Stayed overnight while touring. Made very welcome by the landlady. Room was really well appointed, clean and comfortable. There was a TV lounge with loads of Peak District guides available. Hearty home cooked breakfast set us up for the day. Right on the market square, which isn't in the middle of the town, as we expected, but does face out... More

We spent three nights here in Sep 2010. Gill was wonderful making the most fantastic breakfasts ever, with a chice of times to suit the guests, not her...Excellent Packed lunches for walkers, fine location close to local pubs for meals out and local countryside too.

This was a real find; charming and erudite hosts who gave really usefull advice on the locale and provided maps and guides upon request. Very comfortable accomodation in a period building with character and a breakfast that could not be surpassed. A decent guest lounge (with an extensive library) and pleasant, secluded garden which guests were encouraged to use.Central in... More

This B&B is fantastic value for money. The rooms are comfortable, Nick and his son really friendly. The breakfast Nick cooked up for us was great and we couldn't believe it when the food kept coming for the packed lunch we had requested for a bargain £3!
