We have just spent 4 delightful, peaceful days at Millstone Country Inn, the staff are warm & friendly, the food was very good with large portions, and the beds are very comfy. The breakfast will set you up for the day. We had the dog with us & we were able to have him with us at all times, everyone... More

After reading reviews of The Millstone Inn on tripadvisor we were looking forward to something special. Our faces dropped when we saw the shabby exterior. inside was no better and bedrooms even worse. We managed to change our room to a lower floor but my cousin and her husband who were travelling with us couldn"t be moved. Their room was... More

The Millstone Inn is a couple of miles outside the village of Hathersage (and up a steep hill). In the Derbyshire countryside, it is an excellent location for walking. The room was comfortable and reasonably spacious, with a good bathroom (shower only). Anyone staying there is also likely to be eating there, in the pub-type restaurant, where the food is... More

I love this place! We have never stayed here but always visit for a meal when we are in the Peak District. On previous occasions the menu has been very varied with a great selection of vegetarian options, however, on this visit the choice was somewhat limited or not really of interest to us. We chose garlic and cheese pizzas... More

I can't comment on the rooms, as we only stopped in for lunch and this pub's not listed under restaurants/ cafes so I'm reviewing it under this heading. We were hiking nearby at the beginning of February, and due to adverse weather - horizontal sleet - were on the lookout for shelter when we found this very welcoming, friendly pub.... More

Initially when first arriving the menu looks rather small, then you spot the blackboards. Pick n mix sausages, specials changed daily and even themed nights ( the Italian night is fab... So much range and choice ). I am a dedicated meat eater and rarely pick any kind of vegetarian meal but the mushroom risotto is to die for. The... More

We attended a reunion dinner and also took breakfast at the Millstone on the following morning. We were unable to stay at the hotel as it was fully booked, so cannot comment on the accommodation from personal experience, although friends who had stayed thought it to be excellent. The food was very good indeed. The landlord and staff were polite,... More

We got a room at very short notice which was great. They let us in well before check in time thankfully as we had been up since 4am driving. It was clean enough and although small it was adequate. Good tea, coffee , water and cookies provided too. What is really great about this place with out any doubt are... More

Myself, my husband and my dog stayed here last year in July. We had a lovely long weekend away in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. When they say dog friendly, they really meant it, our dog felt as welcome as we did! I absolutely loved being able to take... More

Spur of the moment decision to find a good pub meal. We arrived fairly early at lunchtime which was a good decision as it got quite busy just as we were finishing our meal. The starters of Nachos and Whitebait were very generous and very good. Two of us ordered the sausages for a main course and these were excellent,... More
