We had driven to Castleton through snow ploughed roads looking across to snow covered hillsides in beautiful sunshine. Absolutely gorgeous! So we were ready for a bite of lunch. I remebered stopping for a meal years ago at an old pub with a 'Muddy Bots Welcome' sign outside and - yes - nothing has changed. It's still there. A log... More

Myself and my girlfriend stayed here for a weekend away and the room was lovely. The staff were great, the bloke behind the bar stayed open for us when we were the only ones left which was really nice. And they have a nice selection of real ales. Its near everything and can't really fault the location and there is... More

Recently stayed at this B&B in the four poster annex room. The room was a lovely size with a big bathroom which included a bath (perfect to relax you legs after walking) The bed was very comfy and overall we found the bedroom very clean. We had picked this place to stay as we were staying on a sunday night... More

We had just one night here. Our room was fairly small with the bathroom squeezed in to one corner. However the bed was a decent size and pretty comfy. We had food in the pub in the evening. Both of us had homemade pies, and we were very happy with them. We really liked the bar, nice and cosy, plenty... More

Stopped for 2 nights in the annex four poster bedroom and just loved the place. Friendly and very accommodating staff, relaxed, cosy, nice food, comfy beds, great bath/shower. Other than the noise from the road (not much you can do about that when you are on the main road in Castleton!!) the place was fab, Sunday quiz night is to... More

Enjoyed our night at Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese. We regretted that we weren't able to stay longer. The pub was cosy and the room was clean and comfortable.

Spent three nights in small but nice and clean single room -good atmosphere, good food and welcoming staff. Gary and Catherine run a good friendly pub which I can recommend.

Twelve of us stayed for the weekend arriving Friday 31st September, leaving Sunday October 2nd and we could not have been made more welcome. Our room, room 10, was spacious and comfortable although the shower temperature did tend to fluctuate. A hairdrier, tea and coffee facilities and biscuits were available in the room. The television was a good Panasonic, flat screen... More

I stayed here one night on business. Check-in was fine and the room (No 9) was nicely furnished but I noticed bits on the carpet which consisted of what looked like nail clippings, fluff & material strands. I don't think it had been vacuumed in a while & it was the same on the hallway carpet. Both the bathroom and... More
