We wanted somewhere to stay so that we could visit Chatsworth and Haddon Hall. We were delighted with our comfortable rooms at The Peaks Inn. We ate in one night and Craig cooked us a delicious dinner. There were plenty of places to eat in the village on other nights. The location is perfect for sightseeing, the village has a... More

I stayed at the Peaks Inn as part of a group late April 2012.  We were mountain biking the first day and walking Kinder Scout the next.  The welcome we received was great. Marie (one of the owners) was very friendly and made us comfortable from the moment we arrived. Amusingly one of my friends had a bit of saddle... More

Many thanks for your comments. By now I hope you have received your charger, it was sent by return and the Post Office never lose anything! We have noted and rectified the butter situation and apologise for that. We are constantly striving to improve and constructive observations like your help us immensely. Regards Marie More

We returned to this pub this afternoon for lunch as our last visit surprised us with fantastic home cooked food for a very reasonable price....sadly we did not receive the same quality. Service was friendly, but so slow. Some other customers came in after us and left because the bar had been left unattended for so long. We ordered: 2... More

Thanks for your comments all of which have been noted. I can only apologise for the points that you raise. I can give no explanation as to why your sandwich was not buttered. With regard to the salad garnish, we usually use baby leaf salad for our garnish but on this occasion, we had run out and had to use... More

Group booking - took over an hour to receive a cheese sandwich, despite pre-ordering before visit due to large group booking. When it arrived, the sliced white bread was curling up as it was so dry. Sent it back and and received replacement from sarcastic member of staff, sliced brown bread this time, very small filling, wilted salad garnish. Cost... More

We're sorry you did not enjoy your experience at The Peaks. However, your review is biased and incomplete for the following reasons. 1. The booking was made by another member of your party and we were assured that all guests would be arriving in one of two groups, either at one thirty or slightly later. You, in fact, arrived almost... More

Wonderful, locally sourced food. I had the scampi and it was delicious! My partner had the duck, and it was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. We followed the meal with a sticky toffee pudding, which was generous and covered in custard! We've eaten here before and we'd eat here again. 10/10!

Had a fantastic stay for valentines day, beautiful pub right in the heart of castleton. The room was amazing, with four poster bed, massive spa bath and lovely view of the castle. The evening meal and breakfast were first class, the owners and staff were friendly and made us feel like part of the family. Will definitely be back soon.

This Inn is one of a few in Castleton in the Peak District, needless to say a beautiful area, so it has a lot of competition. The landlord and landlady were very new, having only been in a week or so, so they were still finding their feet no doubt, but they were friendly and helpful. Our rooms were a... More

We stayed two nights in Feb 12, and had a great time. We stayed in room 1 (four poster spa room) which was amazing. The jacuzzi was just what we needed after walking the mountains all day, although not extremely powerful it was perfect for our needs and totally relaxed me (enough to be asleep in the comfy bed for... Stayed here to attend the carols in the cave. Had room 2 which was lovely with high ceilings and fan bed. Room 3 was pretty much tyr same although room 1 is a four poster with jacuzzi bath. Ate in the pub, good value and well cooked and a great brekkie with friendly service from a chatty south African lady.... More

At short notice we decided to try and find somewhere to stay in Castleton. This pub was the only place that had a room free. I was slightly unsure as it was a twin room that could be made in to a double. We booked it anyway as the price was quite reasonable with breakfast included. We were happy to... More
