We stayed in Ladybower for two nights. Very comfortable and nicely furnished room. Great bathroom, lack of hot water on one morning – apparently people had been up before us and used it! !!!! However, we did have hot water for the rest of our stay. Good breakfasts – especially if you like a large cooked breakfast. We ate elsewhere... More

Just spent three nights here with eight friends on an offroading weekend. We picked the hotel without a recommendation and were not disappointed! Excellent staff, friendly and accomodating. The rooms are being refurbished but were still OK with four posters in many rooms and very clean. The food was exceptionally good. There was entertainment in the evenings and a really... More

We went here yesterday (19th May) for lunch as we had just been on a lovely walk in the peak district to get some fresh country air. We come from an area also called Castleton, but ours in Rochdale,Lancashire.Well you couldn't go wrong with Ye Olde Nags Head. I had sausage, mash and gravy well, what can I say. You... More

I stayed here in Feb upon recommendation of parents who had stayed before. Have previously stayed across the road in the Bull. Castleton itself is beautiful & somewhere I visit regularly having grown up in the local area. Stayed in the Ladybower room. Not sure if this was one of the refurbed rooms or not to be honest? The room... More

One night stay here on Monday, stayed as a stopover from Stratford to Manchester. Friendly staff, nice room and decent breakfast. We also ate here and it was of a decent standard. If you are staying in Castleton I would recommend a stay. We stayed in the Ladybower room which was nice. A note to the managers, maybe consider putting... More

Stopped here just for the night on the Easter Monday Bank Holiday In the Derwent Room. The room was gorgeous, four poster bed and period furniture. Not everyone's taste I'm sure but it was right up our street. The bathroom had a bath and a shower which was great as my Husband prefers a soak. The bed was extremely comfortable and we both... More

We last visited the Old Nag's Head about 3 years ago and was expecting the excellent carvery again when we dropped by after a ramble through Castleton. We were in for a rude awakening and an expensive one at that. The best point was the fast service, now for the worst points. We ordered a started of whitebait, for the... More

We stopped in for a meal on a bit of a whim (after the local Chip Shop rather rudely turned out to be shut on Thursday nights). The food and service was excellent (the chunky chips in particular) and the setting was very nice and cosy - quite a contrast to the chilly outside air! Should've really gone back there... More
