after a great walk round ladybower and building a bit of a thirst and appetite we decided to call in on the off chance as the car park was heaving. i had what can only be described as one of the nicest bar meals i have ever had. well cooked and presented and served with a smile. the pub is... More

We stayed for one night B&B. Nice spacious clean room. The dinner was good with good veggie options and local beers. The waitress couldn't have been more attentive and friendly even though the restaurant was full. Breakfast was large and perfect to set you up for a day in the Peak. The only negative is the reception area which could... More

Five of us stayed earlier this week for two nights for an old lads walking trip.Rooms were comfortable and just what we wanted with shower and bath. One room was a family room with three singles which worked fine. Breakfast and dinner were excellent. The food is homely and plentiful which is just what we wanted for this trip. Staff were... More

We called in one evening last week to look at the menu, then booked for the following evening. However, I can only report complete disappointment at our visit. Yes, Friday nights are busy, but we ordered a drink at the bar, checked in so to speak, were asked to order our food from the bar and leave our debit or... More

We booked online, which was really easy. We found the place and the staff to be welcoming and pleasant. The room (room 2) was small but comfortable and as we were only there 2 nights, more than adequate. The food was freshly cooked pub fare (nothing microwaved), reasonably priced and plenty to choose from. The staff were friendly and the... More

we arrived and had lunch with friends. good wholesome food and cosy bar/lounge. we asked the bar staff if they had walking maps as we wanted to stride out and we were sold one for £2. this gives range of walks around derwent valley. when we returned- we couldnt check in until 4pm - we were shown to our room.... Have stayed here a few times. Chose the four poster room this time - lovely. Crisp sheets, soft towels, clean lovely room and very relaxed ambience. Food is hearty rather than fine dining but that's what you expect from a pub. Wine choice is pretty good and staff are helpful and friendly. The only downsides are that it is a bit... More

We have always found the Yorkshire Bridge a lovely, reliable place to eat, though often very busy, so we were delighted to not only find a free disabled parking space, but also a choice of tables in the conservatory! There were three of us, my mother, partner and myself. As a vegetarian, I was delighted to have a good choice... More

Maybe we expected more but the reviews here (and elsewhere) of the Yorkshire Bridge Inn suggested it was one of the best places in the area to eat. The menu options were worryingly limited so ended up opting for Fish and Chips off the specials board. There was nothing wrong with the food or the location really, it was just... More
