Stayed for two nights B & B (voucher offer) so was extremely good value, would suggest full price is still very good value. Room clean and comfortable including bathroom. Owner, Son and all staff very friendly. Food good and nice to have a bar and pool table as Hotel is 3 or 4 miles from nearest Pub. Superb location for... More

Stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay (Sun Hol offer) Rooms basic but very clean, plenty towels, hot water and drink making facilities. Food was lovely we had evening meals and breakfast on both days, Staff really nice and helpful, bar was a pub type atmosphere and very comfortable. The only downside was the two boys with a family... Stayed for one evening and had a nice stay. Although on arrival we walked into the bar to check in which was full of men watching horseracing on Channel 4 and shouting at the TV. Slightly intimidating although the lady behind the bar apologised for the noise. The room was basic but clean, with tea and coffee facilities, plenty of... More

We stayed for one night and the room was very cosy, clean, comfortable and spacious with TV, tea & coffee. Plenty hot water and towels, and the bed and pillows were SO comfy! Our family joined us here for an evening meal (they were holidaying in nearby Silloth) and as always the food was excellent (steak cooked to perfection!). All... More

We stayed for 1 night during our motorcycle tour of the lakes. Great value at £64 b&b for the 2 of us. Had a very good evening meal and the breakfast was lovely. Due to the price we didn't expect much but were very surprised with the level of friendly service. The rooms are adequate and very clean. You normally... More

Stayed here for a night in August 2011. Room was clean and tidy and OK for a night. Wifi was free and super fast which was a bonus. The pub has a good range of beers and the locals were friendly. More

We stayed here with our two children for one night as were attending a wedding nearby. It is a bit out of the way but we found it without any problems by reading a map(!) The hotel doubles as a pub , and the reception is also the bar. We did experience a 'Babycham moment' on arriving in the bar/reception... More

We booked this as a last minute two night getaway. Pleasantly surprised with the hotel, despite having nothing close by, but a bar and restaurant are on site. Rooms could do with a spruce up, but are clean and adequate with coffee facilities in the room. The lakes themselves are about 20 minutes away by car, so access is good.... More

Stayed in Wheyrigg Hall in May with a bunch of not so hairy bikers (mature rather than old). Wheyrigg was perfect and the staff could not have been more helpful. Do not go to this hotel if you are on a diet!!!!!!!! The evening meals were great, as was the breakfast. Perfect location for touring the lakes and Hadrians wall. More
