In a lovely spot, The Farmers Arms is an old inn that is holding up well. The huge ugly car park was a low spot, but the welcome on our arrival made up for this. We were in a room with a four poster bed, but with all mod cons. However, the bathroom was a it of a disappointment -... More

We stayed one night in the four poster room as it was the only room left when I booked. What a wonderful place, I'm not surprised they were booked up. Such a warm and welcoming atmosphere, full of character and history. The food was good, the room was comfortable, spacious and quiet even with the window open all night and... More

We stayed here with friends as part of a longer holiday in the Lakes and loved the atmosphere of the pub. The breakfasts were excellent, and the staff were all friendly. The rooms were well appointed but small, but it is a quirky place with no pretensions to be 5star. It is though in need of a makeover, as paint... More

Breakfast was a pleasure and freshly... More

oldie worldie pub with rooms and restaurant. our room was large warm and had a comfortable large bed. tv/cd/radio. bathroom was fully functioning with overbath shower and plenty of hot water. but could do with an upgrade, very seventies! service was somewhat curt. I'm afraid the restaurant suffers from an over use of microwave cooking. bland food either just warm... More

We stayed overnight in Feb 12 The B&B was at a special rate very good value as well. There is a choice for breakfast but I always like the full english. We had a meal in the restaurant which again was very good and was busy as it was a friday night. I hope to visit the Farmers Arms again.

The staff were excellent but I can't say the same for the food. The starter was excellent but the main course was serveed with a thick gravy which I can only describe as treacle in it's consistency, the starter was excellent but even the dessert was a revelation, the cheesecake had no crunch in the base and for £25 I... This is a lovely old building..low beams, fireplaces etc but it is a pub and noise from the bars is to be expected. The food is pub type food and the breakfast fine if you like a full english - black pudding and all. We found the service on occasion very slow This seemed to coincide with times the landlady... My visit was for a fishing and walking break. The weather varied from attrocious to just plain bad but the Farmers Arms was superb. The owners and staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The beer excellent and food super. I could not fault any part of the establishment. It was comfortable, clean, very well run and welcoming. Watch out for... More
