I visited Dent in December 2012 as I was staying in the Yorkshire Dales to celebrate the New Year. Myself and my partner came across the Stone Close Tea Room. We found it to be an enchanting little cafe and were impressed by the way the owners had created a fantastic atmosphere in such a lovely old building. The fire... More

Just been out with a good friend of mine Kevin Webster, in which we had a good sound meditation at the meditation centre http://www.meditationcentre.co.uk/ and a good walk in the blustery wind which kept the rain away ! We ended up at Stone Close Tea Room, met with a warm friendly atmosphere, the cakes are to die for is one... More

We have just returned from walking the Dalesway. We stopped for a night in Dent at this lovely tea room. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfy and the cake on our arrival was delicious. A gem of a place.

Have visited Dent on several occasions and always end up in Stone Close for a cream tea. There are plenty of home made cakes to tempt you & the tea room is nice & snug on a cold winters day. An added bonus is that dogs are allowed. We have never stayed here but if the rooms are as good... More

We were hiking the Dales Way and spent two nights here (Dent). The tea house part of the building is very charming and we had a lovely tea and scones upon our arrival after a very long day of walking. The hosts were very helpful and knowledgable about the area. Our only complaint is that we had a very chilly... More

Don't hesitate to visit the tea room for great food and a warm welcome - our dog Lucy even enjoyed a complimentary biscuit! The three of us all enjoyed a full breakfast with two delicious Dentdale sausages, served until 12.30pm. My mouth had watered at the range of cakes displayed (particularly the Yorkshire curd tart,) but we had to forego... More

Stayed at this lovely place for a week in October 2011. Ground floor room was so nice and cosy, with a walk in "wet room" instead of bath or shower, great for my elderly mother. Very clean accommodation with good quality bed linen and towels and curtains Diana and Melvyn were just so welcoming and it was all the extra... More

WE were off walking in the Lake District and couldn't find a single room in Kendal or Penrith. So we decided on this. It's just 45 minutes to the lakes. But what a breathtaking setting; it is like going back in time. The room was spotless, warm and comfortable. The breakfast was great, and provision of packed lunches was no... More

Arrived on a very wet afternoon - doing the Dales Way. We were welcomed by Melvyn who showed us to our room on the ground floor and where we could leave/dry our wet clothes. Once we had settled in we were invited to have tea and cakes (lovely choice!) in the tea room and then later an evening meal which... More

We arrived at Stone Close Dent at lunchtime, and were very hungry after our long journey. We were very warmly welcomed by Melvyn, who served our lunch, and it was absolutely delicious!! Our room was lovely, a twin en/suite on the ground floor, rustic & quaint, with a lovely spacious walk in shower, and spotlessly clean throughout!! This B&B is a real... More
