We had a spacious and perfectly comfortable twin room at the White Lion. Stayed for an evening meal - which was excellent and with very generous portions. Good breakfast and really good service.

White Lion Ale was awesome, dinner was harty and good. Breakfast excellent. The room was perfectly adequate.

We stopped off here after a walk up Place Fell. Only had a pint of lager, but staff were very helpful. I visited the ladies toilet, which I have to say is wonderful! It was very clean, looked quite new. The view from the small window in the ladies toilet is amazing!

Been coming to this pub for years and still love it. Staff always friendly and cracking food after a days walking. Can get quite busy so make sure you get there early and defo try the sticky toffee pudding. We've eaten in the White Lion on a number of occasions over the years, but I've never stayed. The pub is popular with walkers and is a good overnight stop for those doing the Coast to Coast. Walkers and ther dogs are welcome and I've never been dissapointed with the grub, which is averagely priced and plentiful.
