Just returned from a two night stay at the Merlin and had a really nice break. Hotel lovely and the staff very attentive. Had a nice room overlooking the front garden. What a wonderful find this place is! Lovely location & staff were excellent. We had a lovely room, ate in the restaurant- wow! The meal was really special! Couldn't fault anything & simply the nicest continental breakfast ever! We will be back!

The food is simply amazing, the service is great (even more if you like a nice chat with the staff) and the building looks very nice as well. Really lovely place, well situated, fantastic frinedly staff and sevice, food to die for. The room was lovely, plenty of space, cosy and warm. Went for a relaxing weekend and wasn't disappointed. Would definitely go here again.

Been a few times recently to the Merlin and everytime has been very enjoyable. Good service with friendly staff and good food. Will be back for more and to enjoy the duck salad again!

Stayed here for our wedding anniversary the week before christmas. Lovely warm atmosphere in the bar area, open log fires, comfy sofas etc. Ate in the restaurant that evening, absolutely stunning food at reasonable prices. Booked with a special online offer, cost £45 b&b, bargain!! Will definitely visit again.
