We had a very memorable trip to Durham, a small town just 10 minutes from downtown Freeport. We arrived Friday night, too dark to see much of the farm. Jim upgraded us to a cottage room because renovations were being done to the main house. We woke up giggling to the sound of roosters crowing and geese honking! We had... More

A friend and I spent a weekend out at the Inn in March. The innkeeper, Jim, makes a wonderful breakfast and he was a gracious host when it came to showing us the animals and helping us plan our itinerary while we were out there. Coming from Boston, it's an adjustment to being on a farm and it was nice... More

My wife and I spent the first weekend in February 2012 here. It was our first visit to the Inn and we stayed in the Durham Room which was wonderful. The room was very spacious, well lit, and the bed was firm and comfortable. The one and only thing we cold suggest as a change in the room (and this... More

The Royalsborough is owned and run by the two most hospitable people you could wish to meet. Farmer Jim and his wife Marriane are lovely and do everything within their power to help you figure out what to do and make you comfortable. My daughter was so excited to be on a farm she was up around 5:30 to go... More

I guess we got the innkeepers on a bad weekend as others mention their hospitality which we did not see. In short, rooms were basic and decoration hokey. In need of renovation in bathroom. Food was forgettable. Not a good value overall.

We got a deal for the inn from Living Social. It was a little off the beaten path, but worth going. The food was great and our room was wonderful. The innkeepers walked us around the farm, and we had tons of fun. We loved it, and would definitely go back. It felt very genuine. Also, try the Lion's Pride... More

We spent two nights here during the early fall and had a wonderful stay! The innkeepers, Jim and Mary Ann, were very friendly and accommodating to our gluten free/vegetarian diet needs. There are plenty of animals to see in the fields behind the main house including goats, chickens, and alpacas. Jim is happy to provide a full tour of the... More

I booked a stay at the Royalsborough inn via a special on livingsocial.com. The special package was for 2 nights with a full alpaca farm experience. The host Jim and Marianne Roberts were most kind and welcoming. Jim took us on a tour of the farm and explained all about raising alpacas. We even walked one on a tether. He... More

We loved spending two nights at this B&B. Jim and Marianne are sweethearts and their property is beautiful. The inn is located just six miles from Freeport, very easy to find, and far enough away from all the hustle and bustle to make you feel like you're a million miles from town. The breakfasts were delicious, especially the morning glory... More

I don't know why on earth I waited this long to write a review of this little corner of heaven! We were 5 girls traveling from Italy and found this place by chance in August 2008. Thank you Jim and Marianne for the wonderful place you keep! It's clean, quiet, comfortable and has a special energy about it. The rooms... More
