The town of Coba - with its ruins, many cenotes, and increasing efforts to develop interesting activities beyond the ruins - is definitely worth an overnight stay. And the place to stay is Hotel Sac-Be. Great value in a small, family-run hotel. The rooms are immaculate and comfortable, and owners Modesto and Reina also have an excellent restaurant on the... I'm a little biased, as this was our only stop in a pueblo, but.. this was the best value room on the trip. Immaculately clean, super comfortable bed and very friendly and helpful service. I find the chickens next door charming - but if you don't, bring earplugs and it will all be okay. -- We almost stayed in the... More

Stayed 1 night in Dec 2010. We just arrived on the bus from Valledolid. We had our choice of rooms - we seemed the only guests. This accommodation, like Coba itself, is very simple. It is very rural - just one road really leading the ruins around the side of the lake. There are a few villages and houses around,... More

Want to be in Mexico supporting friendly family run businesses?? This is your place - clean rooms, awesome food and service and a family that is proud of their place and genuinely interested in talking to you -- one of the best places on our trip in the Yucatan

A double room with fan did cost us 350 pesos. I think with AC it’s 450-500 pesos. The room was small, but ok to stay in it for a night. The Hotel has a restaurant which serves really good Guacamole and Tacos. But unfortunately you can’t sleep longer than 5AM, because first the dogs are starting to bark, then the... More

Very nice little hotel. Perfect for visiting the ruins at Coba before the crouds arrive. Good food and large rooms. A very friendly and helpful family run the place. A pleasure to stay there. Good value.

Basic little hotel, clean, simple. We stayed here in order to get to the Coba archaeological site early in the morning. This worked really well -- we had the site almost to ourselves before 10:30 am. Mayan family next door -- we could hear roosters and family activity, not too loud, made us feel part of a neighborhood. By the... More

Although this hotel maintains a website, even communications in Spanish go unanswered. I've traveled in the Yucatan a fair bit so I always try to secure a room in small villages prior to departure. Yet, I was immediately taken good care of upon arrival at this little hotel without previous reservations. The owners are presently increasing the capacity by double... More

This is a great place to stay if you are on a budget and want to see real Mexico while visiting Cancun and the Yucatan Peninsula. $40 a night as of 2/2008. Right in the heart of Bonfil, about 10 minutes from the airport, about 1/2 way to Cancun. The rooms are okay and the pool in the back is... More

Back in November I tried to book the room on their website but I never got an answer. Apparently they don't work with Internet even though they have an email address. Anyway when you go to Coba, they will have a room for you. They don't speak a word of English, so brush your Spanish before you travel in the... More
