Great little boutique hotel and a perfect location to everything. Easy walking to a parts of Ajijic. The staff was very friendly, every morning we had a nice continental breakfast, sometimes cold and sometimes hot food was served. They even have a little lounge, where we could gather with our friends instead of going out if we wanted. We did stay the first night although the bar was stocked with alcohol it lacked mix and ice. We stayed in the one bedroom unit which was very comfortable, slept well in the comfy bed. Would stay again.

A great location in downtown Ajijic. However; It is time for a renovation. The bed was comfortable. Pillows were great. Floor tiles chipped, needed to be sprayed. The hotel needed a bit of love. Small towels, one face cloth. Staff was nice, breakfast was minimal at best. Cute hotel with great potential. LOVED The turtles <3 Please give the mirador a facelift.

Juliez853, If you had any problems with our hotel, my staff and I would have happily accommodated you in any way possible. We pride ourselves in going above and beyond for our guest's needs. Our towels are the same as any other hotel. Your suggestion for larger towels will be taken to heart. We are working hard to make renovations and improvements as we can. In fact, we just renovated the bar and are now working on our upstairs mirrador/terrace. We are a boutique hotel, not a bnb. We advertise our breakfast as continental, which it is. We always have, freshly brewed coffee, fruit, yogurt, cereal, juice, oatmeal, boiled eggs, cheese, regular bread and a sweet bread or pastry. We often go further than as advertised and offer a hot breakfast as well that includes bacon, eggs, pancakes, waffles, etc... If you went to any hotel air bnb, you may notice small chips in the tiles. We are working hard to improve these very small issues. We also spray regularly for pests of any kind. We pride ourselves on the cleanliness of our establishment. In fact we have been honored an award of excellence on the cleanliness of our hotel. We are disappointed to hear your feedback as "So Close" as most guests feel we have a very charming and adorable little hotel. Our staff is there 110% for the needs of our guests. We frequently ask our guests to let us know if they have any issues or how are we can help them. We hope you take a second look. This is a unique gem, as you stated, and we remain making improvements each day. Thank you.

With fine bones, this hotel should be magnificent, but fails dramatically. I will say that the bed was soft and there was adequate hot water pressure. Those are the only good things I can find to say about it. We would have moved to another location, had one been available. I wanted to rate this property as poor, but my husband said I should give it average. We booked thru Booking.com and when we arrived, the price was higher. The receptionist did not seem to care when we showed her a screen shot of the confirmation and price. When they tell you breakfast is at 8, it is only a suggestion. At 8:45 on Sunday, we finally went to the Oxxo for coffee. I do not mind staying at older properties and the inconveniences that they might entail, when they are clean and the staff seems to care. This property is presently for sale.

Dear McTrix, It's unfortunate that you feel the hotel is a "Crumbling Beauty". If anyone were to read MOST of the reviews, they would see that it is an adorable, unique little Moroccan style themed hotel. While in the village of Ajijic, there are often times that unfortunate things arise that we need to address. We cannot possibly know unless you tell us what your concerns are. If we do know your concerns, we go way above and beyond to make your stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible. In addition, we have been awarded a seal of excellence on the cleanliness of our hotel and take very much pride it this rating. As to your issue about booking.com, if you read the entire message from Bookin, it explains the fee THEY charge for the booking that WE have to pay. If you missed this on your booking.com message, we apologize that you didn't see it. We do offer a CONTINENTAL breakfast each day starting at 8:30 a.m. not 8 a.m. If the staff was late, we apologize and will have a talk with them. We are a boutique hotel not a BnB. We advertise that we only offer Continental breakfast each day. However, often times, especially when the hotel is full, we offer, at no addition charge, a hot breakfast that includes bacon, eggs, waffles, pancakes, etc. The property was on the market for a little while. Unfortunately, a human being owns this property and was having many health issues. She felt she needed to sell it, but never expected anyone to use that against her. The property is off the market now. The owner is doing GREAT, and has been making several improvements as she can. You should see how she renovated the bar. It's adorable. Next up is the mirador/terrace. Bottom line is that we are sorry you had a disappointing stay. We hope you give it a second viewing. Thank you for your feedback.

When we walked in and were immediately greeted with a smile and a friendly welcome, we knew we had a winner. Our room was very clean and the bed comfortable. Our room was also light and airy with a balcony offering fun views. The continental breakfasts got us off to a daily good start and were served in an area that is comfortable and one that makes conversations with others very easy. I can’t begin to say enough positive things about all the staff. Every single one of them deserves a hug. You may wonder if we would stay here again, if we would recommend this hotel to others. Yes and yes for certain.

This is a quaint, charming hotel with most all the amenities that traveler's will appreciate. I had a spotlessly clean room with a very comfortable bed. The room contains a kitchenette and a large bathroom. A simple continental breakfast is served each morning. The location is amazing, only steps from the malecon and the main plaza...and right across the street from the Lake Chapala Society. The staff is very professional and courteous. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to a friend!

We loved Hotel Casa Blanca! It is central to everything, though located on a quiet side street. The hotel is small - 8 rooms - with public spaces like a bar, tables, patios. The outdoor areas are full of flowers and trees and vines. Just beautiful. The most comfortable bed, lushest towels, incredible shower and a huge breakfast included. We could not have enjoyed it more. And the owner is super friendly and helpful. She helped us out when we couldn't get cash at the ATM and our ride to the airport flaked. Really nice! You will love this hotel!

My spouse and I stayed 10 nights at the Hotel Casa Blanca in Ajijic, Mexico at the start of February 2020. We were thrilled to find this charming and romantic boutique hotel. The facilities were clean and well cared for. The staff was extraordinarily friendly and helpful. And the owner even took personal care to make sure our stay was comfortable. The staff was great in arranging taxis for us as needed to get around as well as from and back to the airport in Guadalajara. And they could give knowledgeable reviews of the local restaurants that were very helpful. There was even same-day laundry service, which we found very very helpful. The free breakfast was a nice continental style from 8 am to 11 am and included boiled eggs and local pastries as well as lots of lovely local fresh fruit. (They grow lots of raspberries and blackberries in the region.) And if something ran out, staff quickly replenished it for us. The price was pretty good for a full service boutique hotel. We had a kitchenette in our room with microwave, refrigerator and sink. And there was a charming private patio with a fountain out the backdoor of our room. A lovely place for a quiet drink and some local goat cheese and baguette from the local French bakery. They have discounts for longer stays, as well. Yes, we would love to go back to Ajijic for another vacation and we would plan to stay at Hotel Casa Blanca again.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. It is in the old town and perfectly placed for all the bars and restaurants. Our room was lovely and clean and the bathroom very modern. The staff were lovely and really helpful. There is a small cafe downstairs but for breakfast you are better off heading to one of the local cafes. The room was a good size and at the back of the hotel. There is a small pool, perfect to cool off in at the end of the day.

Stayed in early October 2019 for 8 days. Felt safe, clean, and morning breakfast bar was light but enough to get going for the day - great coffee!!! Rooms were comparable for others in the area, had everything including a jug of bottled water, microwave, small fridge, shower and plenty of storage for all of our travel things. And a FAN! October was quite humid. The staff - Jesus and Monica arranged for Jessica to pick up at Guadalajara airport at 5am and driver had our keys. We checked in and paid up front (usual and customary) in the morning after some sleep. Great central location in Ajijic. Convenient for several options for meals within 2-3 blocks - Pasta Trenta sangria and Oui Oui breakfasts highly recommended! The only surprise was the 6am church bells and resounding loud bangs which are culturally appropriate Bring ear plugs and mosquito repellent and bite treatment. Would highly recommend. As two women travelers, we felt safe even coming in after dark.

Our experience in this hotel was horrible and traumatizing. The place is beautiful (but not very clean, to be honest), and the staff is amazingly nice, but Mimi (I don't know if she is the owner or the administrator or what) basically threw us out and said she was going to call the police if we didn't leave. This was after an altercation about the amount of money we were paying, which was a lot less than other guests were paying. It was also at 8 o'clock at night and hotels in Ajijic close at 9 or 10 and everybody goes home. We would have been in big trouble if I hadn’t had friends who came and helped. If you ever come to Ajijic, stay in the Dos Amores. Francisco and Luz took us in, closed late to make sure we were ok, and treated us like queens for the rest of our stay. It is also way cheaper than the Casa Blanca and you don’t have to pay for your whole stay up front, like they made us do in the Casa Blanca.
