This hotel is much the same as the others in the Desert Inn series owned by the government. Spacious rooms surrounding a central courtyard. First room I was shown smelled badly of smoke. (There are no smoke free rooms.) I was able to move to another one. There is internet in the lobby, but it's not a strong signal. The... More

This property was really overpriced. There were no hair dryers in the rooms. The towels were rough and nonabsorbent, as was the toilet paper. Beds were really hard. However there was wifi in the lobby.

Guerreno Negro was our 2° stop on the way from Tijuana (1° stop was in San Quintin). We booked and pre-payed this hotel on Internet some months before our trip. When we departure from San Quintin, we went to Baja de Los Angeles and then we came back to Mex 1 and stop in Guerrero Negro. There is nothing to... More

The La Pinta hotel is now called the Desert Inn. The hotel is a very basic and quite updated acommodation. Comparing with other hotels of the same chain, it has no pool. We stayed there as we very driving back to Tijuana in our trip to Baja. There is not much to see in Guerrero Negro if you stay there... More

This hotel has the distinction of being not only the most expensive hotel in the area, but also the OLDEST and FILTHIEST. First of all, we paid online for the room and they didn't have our reservation. Then we were shown to the WORST hotel room I have ever stayed in. If we hadn't pre-paid, I would have left and... More

This is a nice motel style hotel mainly used by Mexican families. It has a nice pool area and retaurant, and ideally situated on the seafront. Its a five minute stroll into town. The staff dont speak much English but we got by.

Put it this way: We went and got our sleeping bags out of the car so that we didn't have to use their bedding. Maybe they didn't like us and gave us the really bad room? All I know is that it looked like the carpet had been soaked and not cleaned up. The bathroom was also very dirty. I... More

It is a simple hotel, so don't expect luxury, BUT, it is beautiful in it's simplicity. Tall ceilings, stained glass, tile floor. VERY spacious rooms. They let us have our dogs and one is HUGE, they booked us a whale watching trip late in the season. An employee even drove us there in his car. AMAZING PEOPLE!!! Amazing experience. We... More

14August 2004. This was our second stop along the way to Loreto. This La Pinta is a "well used" hotel but adequate for a short stay. Driving Mexico Highway 1 you will see your destination from a long way off by way of a HUGE Mexican flag. As you get closer you'll see a Pemex station to your left and... More
