Staying here was the highlight of a trip full of highlights. The B & B is an old wooden house, which was built and inhabited by the same family for generations and as well as excellent food, we were treated to stories of growing up there and the life they lived. As we parked our car we looked out into... More

Last April, we booked three nights at Cape Onion for the end of June for our first trip to Newfoundland and Labrador, based on reviews on Trip Advisor. We were not disappointed, it was all true. Apart from some non-descript hotels where we stayed during the drive in our rented car from St. John's up the Northern Peninsula, this was... More

Thank you very much for your positive review. Just one little correction - all the regularly used rooms on the second floor have normal vertical walls and a horizontal celing. The large third floor loft, which is only rarely used for familes or children, has a sloping ceiling. More

Are all these great reviews really true? Most definitely! My wife & I had the pleasure of staying here for 2 nights. We left feeling we had been somewhere very special. When we arrived, Barb warmly welcomed us and showed us around. We dropped off our suitcases in our rooms and went for a hike on the trail that leads... More

The Tickle Inn is a great place to stay. The hospitality provided by Dave, Barb and Sofie is outstanding. The 4 course dinner was amazing at a reasonable price. The breakfast was fantastic. I enjoyed all the home-made assortment of baked goods, granola and jams.

This is one of the best places to stay in Newfoundland. My husband and I, brother & sister-in-law stayed here for 4 nights in late August and are already thinking about a return visit. Dave, Barb and Sofie are warm and welcoming making you feel right at home. Dave has some great stories to tell about his 100 year old... More

We just left this B&B this morning, after a 4 night stay. Every wonderful thing that is said about this B&B is true. .Dinners are excellent - we ate at the B&B all 4 nights. Dave makes the best coffee, and soups, Sofie bakes wonderful breads, and Barb and Sofie cooked excellent dinners, which just happened to be healthy. Barb... More

It's difficult to write a review of the Tickle Inn without running out of superlatives. In fact I have to rate it as one of the best vacation experiences in my long list of world travels. My wife and I stayed there for 3 nights in August 2012. The location itself is amazing, situated in a beautiful bay with cliffs... More

This is a real Newfoundland must for international travellers. The inn has been restored to its former splendour by David and Barbara and they and Sophie are outstanding hosts. Because the integrity of the historical building has been retained, compensations have to be made by modern day travellers. We shared a spacious bathroom with our travel companions but that slight... We enjoyed our stay at Tickle Inn -- the food, location, hospitality, sea air and story telling made it a highlight of my family's trip to Newfoundland. My ten-year-old combed the shore for shells and enjoyed playing in the yard of this happy, friendly home. My husband and I relished a memorable walk in the surrounding hillside, and we all... More

I can't say enough nice things about this place!! Meals were fantastic, the location is incredible and Barb and Dave are gracious and considerate hosts.
