I had the good fortune of being booked into the Hummingbird Lodge this past May Long Weekend - what a treat! Although the majority of my time on the island was spent working for the weekend, I was able to rest and relax at the lodge and enjoy being pampered by Janice's incredible hospitality and homemade breakfast (it's home-grown and... Well, we finally decide to try staying a B&B and now are wondering why we didn't try them sooner. We had a great stay while on the Island visiting relatives. The room was comfy and spacious... and we had the place to ourselves, which was probably a good thing as we were traveling with our grandson! Breakfast was fabulous -... More

What a place!! Janice and her husband built Hummingbird Lodge from the ground up! located on over an acre with and by the water too. The rooms were amazing and comfortable, as well as the great common area with comfy seats and lots of reading material to get lost in. Also, with a B&B there is the food! Ever had... More

My husband and I stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed ourselves. After our busy days, we found peace and quiet here. Janice, the host is a knowledgeable and very friendly person. She cooks a delicious, fresh, healthy breakfast. As it was cool outside, we enjoyed sitting by the warm, cozy fire to read and relax in the evenings.... More

I spent a Sat. night with 3 Vancouver pals at the Hummingbird earlier this month (two large double rooms that could each sleep 4). The accommodations were lovely and very roomy -- complete with fragrant special soap that can be bought at the B&B (downstairs). The breakfast was to die for and all homemade and organic: banana-walnut pancakes, granola &... More

My family and I spent 2 wonderful nights at the Hummingbird B&B just after Christmas 2012. Both my wife and I were very impressed with the Lodge and it's owners. As there were five of us we stayed in their largest suite named the "Rufous Room". This room perfectly met our needs. The room was spacious and had both a... More

My daughter and I recently spent 2 nights at the Hummingbird B&B. We had a lovely time. This is my second time there and when I go back to Gabriola, I hope there will be a room for me at this Ben and breakfast. The host and hostess are a very nice, interesting couple. Thank you John and Janice, and... More

We have shared our Gabriola holiday with Janice and John for several years. The amazing organic garden produces wonderful goodies for the breakfast table. The lodge is comfortable, rooms are large, and it feels like home. Even when the BC rains come, staying in this beautiful lodge is a joy. A short walk from one of the best beaches in... More

we have just returned from spending a lovely weekend on Gabriola Island and staying at the Hummingbird Lodge B&B . We were with 2 other couples and all of us were very pleased with each of our spacious rooms and each had its own private deck which was a bonus. There was a huge shared area with a kitchen area... Hi! My dad and I stayed at the Hummingbird Lodge for 2 nights. It is nestled in a beautiful spot very close to a few beaches. It was very quiet and serene and we did see several hummingbirds! Janice and her husband were very friendly and hospitable. The breakfasts were very healthy and I could really taste the love Janice... More
