My daughter and son-in-law just got married here, and it was absolutely beautiful. I'm putting this in point form because I'm covering several subjects: Rooms - rustic and spacious. The ocean-view rooms have an amazing view and their own balcony.(you will pay more for the view) The beds are amazing, everyone we talked to raved about them. Food - not... More

We recently hosted our wedding - for 82 guests - at the West Coast Wilderness Lodge (Spring, 2012). The venue, the food and the staff (and fortunately, the weather) were all incredible. From the BBQ friday night, the breakfasts Saturday and Sunday mornings, through the reception and plated dinner, they did a fantastic job. Lodging-wise, the resort was great. The... More

Just had the absolute pleasure of visiting this beautiful spot on the Sunshine Coast. Our goal was to find some peace and quiet and enjoy the beauties of nature. There could be no better spot. While it is the off season, Paul Hansen, the rather wonderful, if somewhat eccentric owner, provided us with a lovely room with a spectacular view... More

We hosted our wedding for 100 people at the West Coast Wilderness Lodge, summer 2011. The location is beautiful, and the staff did a great job hosting the welcome BBQ and wedding dinner. However, we had a lot of trouble in the planning stages of our wedding and were left feeling overcharged in spite of everything. It seems as though... More

We are pleased that you found our location so appealing and were happy with the Welcome BBQ , Wedding Dinner, and the exclusive access that the lodge provides to our wedding clients. We took responsibility for any per-planning mix-ups with your group and worked to address all concerns as quickly, efficiently and as warmly as possible. Each wedding is different,... More

We stayed at the resort for three nights recently. It is a curious mix of amazing location and a beautiful main building with moody staff and not quite up to par cabins. Dinner was terrific and the prices were not a surprise given the remote nature. However breakfast was a disaster with insufficient staff for the number of guests. Tea... More

Thank you for your comments, we also found breakfast to be a little hectic that morning. Having almost 130 people trying to sit for breakfast at the same time caught us off guard. Usually after a wedding, the guests will make their way in to breakfast over a 3 hour period. Your comments have made us aware that on the... More

The Westcoast Wilderness Lodge is nestled in the comfy, relaxed fishing village of Egmont, B.C. Fantastic panoramic vistas await the naked eye from the amazing decks and view-points...the boat excursion to Princess Louisa Inlet will take your breath away, the food is absolutely first class, organic, local (seafood and vegetables), deliciously presented by an able, friendly and informed staff. The rooms are... If you are lucky and have good weather for your stay at the West Coast Wilderness Lodge it's georgeous, the views are absolutely breathtaking. The cabins are rather new, very clean and nicely furnished. The food is very good but the views from the restaurant are even better. If you want to do some sports try the canooing tour; it's... More

I have been a guest at the West Coast Wilderness quite a few times , mostly with my husband but this last time with my daughter. Upon arrival the view always takes my breath away. The staff was welcoming and the rooms were very inviting (as always). This time we booked a zodiac trip, and got to explore Hotham Sound,... More

We enjoyed the ambience and the views from Egmont over Prince of Wales Reach from the spacious front terrace and the dining room. The Lodge is a few kilometres down the road from the famous Skookumchuck Narrows which should not be missed (see tide tables for extreme high and low tides that create a spectacular tidal bore), and kayaks are... Thank you for taking the time to comment on our lodge. Each year lodge staff spends considerable amount of time putting a menu together, pricing it to be the best of quality at the most reasonable price. Over the past 4 years as you know food costs have risen considerably but over the same time the Lodge has not seen... More

The Wilderness Lodge gave my wife and I one of our most memorable vacations and went above and beyond to make sure our visit went off smoothly. We had booked the overnight kayak excursion for Tuesday night, but when we arrived Sunday evening they told us that they had looked at the weather report and were moving the trip up... More
