A couple of friends and us booked this hotel online after looking at the website. It was $150 per night. Upon receipt of the confirmation email, we were surprised to see a note in the confirmation saying that the restaurant is shut. We were of course dissapointed as we had looked forward to a dinner or breakfast at the hotel.... More

Tried calling to book, left messages, no-one returned my calls so booked on line and printed out the confirmation. The fact that no-one answered the phone or responded to the messages that I left should have prepared me for the outcome. No-one was there, the building was locked shut, so I walked to Settlers House next door and was able... More

Only found out the old heritage hotel at the front has been closed completely for well over a year after arrival. No indication on falsely advertising website. Website is well out of date. Only the modern terrace modern motel style rooms are in use. Completely deserted on arrival, had to ring a lady from a local B&B to open up... More

The York Hotel is potentially a grand establishment but it is currently up for sale and the present management is not operating the hotel but is operating the attached motel style rooms. These are large clean rooms with comfortable beds. All but the very basic essentials have been removed from the rooms. York itself is a wonderful destination and there... More

I stayed here on a business trip and considering that this is a motel in a small West Australian country town it represented a good place to stay with large clean rooms and friendly efficient service. You could do much worse in the bush. The town of York is a delight in all seasons except summer.

I doubt you could call it a hotel as advertised & promoted, I would call it a disused rooming house under severe budget restraints, caretaker lady from a B&B comes & opens up. Paid $250 on last minute prior to going there & what a rip off. Rather than misrepresentation of boutique hotel needs to be advertised as locked rooms... More

I booked two rooms in the terrace section on Wotif, for one night, for myself and a colleague. We were met at the motel rooms attached to the hotel by a very helpful and friendly person, as the actual hotel is closed down and for sale. While the motel rooms are fairly new, and very clean, there was no iron,... More

The 'only room available' when we booked was a Terrace Room which is a motel room. However the hotel was almost empty. This property is up for sale and there are no facilities open, no staff apart from a manager who lets you in and takes you to your room. This was not reflected on the website which is still... More

It is the first time we have ever had to ring someone to come and open a hotel to let us in. The hotel is up for sale and obviously struggling. We were asked to make sure we lock all the doors and not to set the alarm off! If by chance we were to leave the key in the... More

Maybe because this great property is up for sale, little attention is given to making your stay comfortable. Restaurant is closed, rooms aren't serviced (although they do come in to clean your wine glasses and your tea cup and saucer) but refrain from entering your bathroom and touching your bed...hmmm? Lets wait till its sold and new owners are hopefully... More

Please accept our apologies for the quality of stay you experienced. While the Hotel is for sale and the F&B offerings are now closed for the Season, it is unacceptable that your room was so poorly attended to. It showed a significant weakness in our Housekeeping Operations and as such we have now removed further opportunity for such poor attendance... More
