“Not boutique accommodation”

We booked boutique accommodation via our travel agent, this was no way boutique. We had difficulty finding this as it is some way outside Robe. Driving around the owner's property we found a building in their garden which was the "cottage". The property has been dressed for photographs but on closer inspection was dirty. Cunning internet photography depicts this place to be secluded but its actually in someones back yard! Dont go out the front door, you will break your neck, broken step covered with doormat so theres no smelling the lavender or herbs for you. BBQ, and hotplates didnt heat properly so we cooked our fish over the open fire in living room,... More

This could have been great! An old limestone building rescued from ruin by the owners and turned into a holiday cottage. The decoration is in the "shabby chic" style, which isn't my thing but can be ok if done well. But, dear oh dear, the owners seem to have swallowed several design manuals and it is so over the top... More
