We were staying at the caravan park next door with 2 other couples for 6 nights, and we enjoyed the food so much at the Seagate that we dined there twice. I can highly recommend the larksa, which came loaded with mussels, squid and prawns, and was the best larksa I have had outside my favourite Asian cafe in Adelaide....

Large room with fabulous water views although the wrap around balcony was used by adults & children continually running past, so there was no privacy. We were told & the sign said that the restaurant would be open until 8.00pm but when we went down around 7,30pm the waiter said that the kitchen was closed!!! As there was nothing else...

This place isn't cheap but it is excellent. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable with a balcony, and superb sea views through floor to ceiling windows. The bistro serves good food and the staff are efficient and friendly. We were only there for one night but would have liked to stay longer.

Our guests raved about the food, the location & about the wonderful service. Our wedding party & some family stayed in the suites upstairs and we...

Moonta Bay is situated on the coast about 2 kilometres from the historic town of Moonta....

What connection can a movie have with this property? Well, apart from the superb weather in early April permitting endless walks on the beach just in front of the hotel, the view from the seven metre panoramic window of our bedroom ("Suite" Number 5) reminded me of the superb beach scenes in the 1965 movie 'The Sandpiper' (Taylor and Burton)....

My husband and I stayed at the Seagate in Feb for a weekend away. Our room was gorgeous, and looked out over the beach. We dined at the Cafe attached to the Seagate on the Friday night and enjoyed a casual pizza. The bistro Saturday night was lovely. Very romantic, a great choice of meals and wines and the staff...

We live in Moonta and had a large function at home so rather than have to cook breakfast for 20 people we booked in at the Seagate. We found the staff very accommodating, the menu was great... the kids loved the pancakes!! I went for the Full breakfast which was very affordable and loads of food, bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes,...

I don't normally write blogs or reviews (because I'm a photographer !)but this is a worthy exception. My wife and I just had a fantastic evening at The seagate in Moonta bay. Great friendly staff, especially Bev (our host) and one of the finest steaks I have ever eaten- nice one chef !!. It is the first time we have...
